Re-Discovering the joy of Beer.
I've been pretty much steady on the Gin and Bourbon/Whiskey diet for a while now. I recently re-discovered the joy of beer in its many forms. So, what wunderbar brews are you into? :D

Quite a collection there. ;)
Been a while since I've had a Pabst. Perhaps its time to rectify that.

I have been bouncing all over the place trying local craft and other micros lately. I've decided I am not on the IPA bandwagon. I appreciate them for what they are but I've found I am a porter man at heart. I enjoy all type of ales and lagers, some of the black lagers are top of the list for me. I keep coming back to porter. That and almost any type of smoked beers.
Some of my current favorites include but are not limited to:
Great Divide's Smoked Baltic Porter. Comes in 22oz bombers and hands down my favorite.
Shiner's Bohemian Black lager, only found in Shiner's familiy reunion up here in Pennsyltucky and only a four pack. Simply speaking though the family reunion case is a can't miss.
Anchor Porter, perhaps the best straight up porter on the market right now.
Founders Porter is a close second.
Although I'm not a huge fan of the IPA style, Founders Rye PA is outstanding, even if you're not a fan of that style.
If you have a smart phone get the Brewster app. It's a neat little tasting and note app. If you get it PM me and I'll friend you on it so you can see all the stuff I've tried. There's just to many to list here.

Re: Re-Discovering the joy of Beer.
I am a craft beer lover. It gets hard to explain to people truly love beer. They just go "sure you love beer, everyone does." I usually don't find it worth the trouble to explain that I mean more than just Miller High Life, not that I don't love MHL. I also love slumming it with the cheap beers at bars at least once a week.
I still consider myself an amateur though.
If you want to get more in depth than the macro lagers I would recommend looking for local breweries and trying their stuff.

I rediscover the joy of beer pretty much on a daily basis.

Re: Re-Discovering the joy of Beer.
Any cheap corporate American lager is good: PBR, Miller, Bud, Coors...
Imports are good too, so long as it's not diarrhea-colored. Becks, Pilsen, Heineken, Orangboom...good stuff.
