The answer is, it's a bloody mary made with clamato instead of tomato juice. Clamato is a mix of tomato and clam juice.
That's right, clam juice.

At Christmas we always have Ramos Fizzes in the morning. Here is a slightly complicated recipe but it gets the job done:

And afterwords we can run amok! Or if you're too tired, we can walk amok.

My favorite A.M. drink would be anything with Akeehol, these days. Been far too long. Hopefully, tommorrrow will be the day to saddle up again.

This morning started with a nice Vouvray tête de cuvée while my filet mignon is gently roasting.

beer is always good, the heartier the better, unless i'm severly overhung, in which case the lighter the better. i have to say mimosas to piss boozy off, but it has the added virture of being true. irish coffee, of course.

I like New Amsterdam. The fact that it's dirt cheap is just a bonus.
As for morning, Guinness is always a good choice, but my fav has to be a white russian. I really don't like white russians most of the time, but for some reason when I'm hung over they are glorious. The local where I used to live would serve 'em up in pint glasses on Sunday mornings for $4. 3/4 vodka, topped of with kahlua and a splash of cream (mostly for color).

Re: Morning drinks.
A snort of bourbon in my coffee will do in a pinch. Sometimes I will split the difference between a bloody and a mimosa and opt for a screwdriver. Dark rum seems to go down the smoothest when I'm really feeling it.
I've yet to actually attempt a Flippant Hen, which is of course a raw egg cracked into a pint of cheap lager and then chugged. I saw it on an episode of The Wire and it turns up in bar books here and there, but I haven't spoken with anyone who swears by it. Seems like more of a prank than anything.

I don't think I've ever even seen Mimosa or more relevantly Manhattan. I feel like a brute.

This is exactly why I bought clam juice and vodka yesterday. As it turns out, I have no tomatoe juice, though, so I'm having a can of cheap beer.
