Amazingly, there are elements of the beer, wine and liquor industry that feel threatened by this development. No pill will ever replicate the experience of consuming alcohol in all of its' well-rounded entirety.

the hangover is part of the drunk. I only ever get bad hangovers if I stay up too late. if I go to bed at a normal time I'll usually be fine

Kind of a sacrilege imho, drinking without a hangover just blankets the other dangers that alcohol presents and could lure unsuspecting hard-drinkers into a false sense of security. Just like with tattoo's if you can't stand the pain for something so beautiful then don't do it. I drink and I know the results of what to expect the next day which is just one of those things for me.
