Snowstorm, anyone?

Post by Cheffie »

I live in Northwest Arkansas, (originally from NYC). 6-8 inches of snow coming plus 1/2" of ice. You'd think the zombies were coming from the lack of Pop Tarts and beer on the shelves from the way it looks at Walmart. Got my beer, hate Pop tarts, and am hunkering down.

Anyone else in the storm's path?

We saw about 30 seconds of snow today. Cold, though.

The area of the UK in which I currently reside, is blessed by being hit by the Gulf Stream*, for the time being, as a result it rarely snows anywhere around sea level. In fact, I don't believe that this city has seen snow more than twice in the last decade.

However, the reason for my post was to direct you to a recipe for one of the best cold-weather drinks, the Bullshot. Enjoy.

*We have wild Palms around. In fact, given the amount of retirement home around here, we are the Florida of the UK (but without the amusement parks, tourists or murders - well, not many).

Here in Cincinnati it poured down freezing rain all last night, now has been snowing for close to five hours straight.

Same here, I'm just a bit north of you. A layer of ice covered by nine inches of snow. At least I got out of work early, and I'm stocked in the beer and booze category.

I just hand a check of the weather as I'm planning to drive 250 miles tomorrow, and was warned of snow, but the forecast is thankfully clear across the north of England and Scotland so I can go and indulge in Buckfast and homemade rum

Tonight is snow to freezing rain. So some shitty weather but no cause to raid the milk, bread and booze aisle.

I really have to come visit in the winter sometimes. Not that you wouldn't be stocked in May too now that I think of it.

I am often the one who waits until the day of the blizzard to stock up. So I come across as the depraved alcoholic who has to battle his way through the elements to get to the liquor store.

Maybe, but anyone who said that within your earshot would come across as a deranged and possibly suicidal lunatic.

Mid-Michigan, we've gotten a couple of inches a day for the last few days. Ice not bad though and that's the important part. The 20 month old daughter is loving the snow she doesn't remember it from last year.
