There are quite a few Board members based in the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia, to name but a handful of countries (and, not forgetting those Board members who, whilst posted overseas, from their country of origin, still manage to post). So what (and I ask out of pure and simple curiosity) prevented you? Indeed, if you had taken the opportunity, you may have had the chance to link up with some of your fellow Modern Drunkardists (the movement is Worldwide) and been introduced to the local drinking culture. That is, after all, what this Board is about...

It is also polite to respond to a PM, Mr Dog (or is it Mr49?) but thank you for no longer being "hidden". That was good of you.

The family has been keeping me busy and work has been kicking my ass.

Some very unpleasant health issues laid me low for awhile but I'm on the mend now and back in action.

In keeping with this theme, I can tell you I don't know. Maybe it was I could always find something better to do.

I had just gotten out of the habit of coming here. Things got much too political and off tone and topic and I was living with two other major league Drunkards at the time so the board became much less important to maintaining the sense of Drunkard brotherhood for me. About the time I decided to return to the board I got quite ill. They initially told me it was my liver and that I should "make arrangements." I had only told them about 1/3 of what I really drink and assured them "It can't be my liver; I'd have noticed." But I didn't touch a drop of booze for a year- So I didn't post. The sandbox isn't any fun when you're not allowed to play in it. After two liver biopsies and a host of other tests confirming what I told them all along "it's not my liver." I started to drink and obviously post again as I had intended.

My excuse was, I was drunk. And it was my 30th anniversary. The pearl anniversary, according to Hallmark. The Grump got me a nice pearl and diamond ring, which looked a bit like the one he got me ten years ago, except a lot bigger. I got him a really cool watch, black and green, because the pearly ones all looked so damn girly I thought he'd hurl at the thought of wearing them. Yes, thirty years ago, I lost my mind, threw caution to the winds, and somethingsomethingneveryoumind and here we are. Wedded, and grandparented, and all that stuff.
