Going to be carrying grand papas casket to earth in few hours.
Hungover. Having to deal with people I haven't fucking "seen" since I was 2 wishing me strength to carry on and acting like they had seem him in past 20 years. I just wish to hear some poetry, prose done by loved ones and to leave the "wake" that doesn't involve alcohol early to drink with friends until world looks bit more 'shiny' again.
All the best to you and yours.
Rage over.

Sad to hear. One on your grandpa!
And now to those "people" ur talking about. It`s easy to loose your composure on the spot and stuff (I would). But your grandpa deserves better.
Just get real shitfaced later on, try to have something resembling a good time and hope for them to live their miserable boring lives long and uneventfull.
Then in 20 years or so show up at their funerals with drink in hand and say with a grin: now who`s laughing last bitches!

Re: Fucking funerals
Sorry for yr loss man. I rmbr my gramps usta carry arnd a bottle of Tokay in his back pocket. Fond memories. I raise a glass to you n yr Grandpa.
Re: Fucking funerals
I'll raise my next bourbon for your grandfather and the one after that for you.
Re: Fucking funerals
All said and done it took 5 hours total. I feel relieved to the core.
Now it's time to get my drink on with great vigor!
And thirsty it's crappy Finn traditions to not have alcohol in wakes. Makes them way more of a burden than they ought to be.
The priest wasn't half as bad as advertised and he was the same guy my grandpa talked to when he was at his last weeks. He spoke very highly of him. Mentioning stuff like how he had never seen somebody raise to shake his hand at such condition (and walk him out when he was leaving) and that he wasn't sure which of them gained more from their conversations considering meaning of life and such.
What I was trying to say in short I guess was that overall I was very pleased how things went down and that they don't make them like that anymore.

Re: Fucking funerals
Sorry for your loss, Bur. It's tough. Went thru it several weeks ago myself. It helped to go to my local favorite pub and hoist several cocktails and share stories about him with complete strangers. I'll drink to your grand pops this afternoon. Cheers!
DRINK!

Hope to see you soon, my grandy was my closest, glad it went down well. Hugs through the internet with bourbon, doing one now just for that reason.
