Yep. Also from Aldi (although Lidl sometimes stock them) and you're quite right, they are piss cheap (by UK standards) and do the job.

Here is an interesting story about growing up in the "Buckfast Triangle" (roughly the area between Airdrie, Coatbridge and Bellshill). N.B. it's not a pretty story.

And "Aldi", too. The cheaper end of the market is definitely in favour of more integration with the E.U.

And that`s not cheap! Oettinger 20 x 500ml, 7 euros. Hansa 7,50 and a lot of worse stuff.
Back in the day before they raised the tax on beer it was five bucks a case of 20 x .5s
In the best days you paid 4 euros and got a case of sparcling water for free on top of it. They really tried to get rid of that nasry stuff, cause it ages too

In the old days when we drank beer on festivals instead of only hard stuff, cause you know: beer sobers you up! We always drove to an aldi in the netherlands, from germany! Stupid huh? No, because they had cheap german beer but no deposit on cans in the netherlands, whereas in germany you have to pay 0.25 euro per can. Now collect all your garbage that`s worth some after a week of imbibing. Gooooood fucking luck

The college kids have been buying up the Hamms at the $12.99/30pack, so the other day I went Genessee Cream. Still got it. Anyways I brought a can around my Pops and he said the rumor back in the day was that the Moonies owned Genessee.

I think the point of cheap beer has been missed here. And that point is to get maximum drunk with minimum hangover. I call this the "hangover coefficient." The higher the hangover coefficient the more beer one can drink with the least deleterious effects. Oh, and still get hammered decently.

The best cheap beer - in fact the best beer of all for big beer boozing - is Coors. There. I said it and a fight will surely ensue. Having said that, my very, very local convenience store does not sell Coors. Those bastards. So, my female picked up some Busch for me tonight. That's after having a nice microbrew and a bomber of great dark beer my daughter brewed for me. Blesh . Busch is ok for slamming in terms of the hangover coefficient and add to that it's on the nasty side, taste-wise, and hard to choke down more than 12 or 15, and you have a decent night-before-work brew.

If mere beer gets you a hangover, you've got problems!

Indeed, beer re-hydrates the liver when you are doing some imbibing work. Cheap beer is cheaper than bogtled water, and who wants to do that to our few aquiffers. Quiffers aaguafers

Cheapest stuff I might remember was mother`s milk. Had she poured some drops of whisky innit I might be still hanging on to them. (hahaha, sorry)
Oh well, getting strange in here again...
