It's HBE time again ladies and gentleman.
I'm happy to facilitate.

My thoughts:

I'll send out pairings on or around November, 23rd. That gives everyone three weeks to get involved.

No need to get crazy. If you can afford to send a bottle of Blue that's your choice but it shouldn't be required. Take the time to know your recipient. Send them something special. Maybe it's local booze they can't get, maybe it's just something you know they like.

Sorry to those outside the USA. History has proven it's hard to do an intercontinental HBE. I'd we need a fixer I'll gladly connect you wonderful drunkards, too. My guess is that you can all take care of yourselves, though.

It is still early November, I think that you'll find that plenty of others will sign-up as Christmas gets closer.

That's the usual pattern of events, anyway.

So to stop the dribs and drabs, may I suggest that you put a closing date for entrants for this year's USHBE?

I wish that were true. The last few years it's been the same small group of people.

So, in the interest of drawing some new blood here is what I'm going to do:
everyone that signs up this year will get a little ssomething extra from me in the holiday stockung. No guarantee s as to what it will be, though. A half pint of bottom shelf vodka? A shot glass? Half a bottle of aspirin? Who knows?

I'll put closing day as the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Gifts should be sent by MLK Day in January.

The system is set up so that they will sit in your "outbox" until the recipient opens them. So, I fear, there is little that I can do except suggest that all those involved ensure that they check their "inbox" regularly and make sure that they have space in their "inbox" to ensure that they have space to receive Bluto's PM; and once you have read the PM, move it to your "saved box. That way you'll have save the information and have space for further PMs.
