My mom likes a good Riesling, but she'll drink just about any white wine. She'll also drink gin/tonic or vodka/tonic. her favorite is probably tanqueray & tonic!
Dad (RIP) loved his Dewars, and then later in life Johnnie Walker Black. He was a scotch guy . . . but if he was behaving, he drank beer or cider with mom.
What are/were your parents' favorite libations?

My first memories of drinking are of my old man allowing me to try a little of his pint of Guinness in a pub in Derry. He has since become more of a wine and rum drinker. No real explanation for the rum drinking, but I've taken to it myself as well.
Mammy's not much of a drinker, but she has her reasons.

Mom liked her whiskey sours.
Dad liked his beer.
I had to be slapped off of both, early and often.

Re: What are/were your parents' favorite libations?
Let's just say while going through some old stuff of my paternal grandmother's I found we Woman's Christian Temperance Union song book and a bunch of poems and articles on temperance. My mother left her house because he felt drinking was bad. Needless to say, water were there favorite libations. My stepmother, though, talks about her Kentucky roots and the uncles who ran moonshine. She won't admit to drinking, but perks up when I mention bourbon.

Take a jugful, the universe is yours.
Such is the rapture of the wine,
That the undrunk shall never inherit.
