Here are some episodes of "The Telegoons" (an effort by the BBC to make a television version of their highly successful radio series, "The Goon Show.
I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did (and as much as they did making it - what with the complimentary boose, Brandy Alexander being a favourite and Sellars providing Kif * for them to smoke.
a) "The Canal"
b) "The Underwater Mountain"
c) "The Terrible Revenge of Fred Fu Manchu"
d) "The Ascent of Everest"
e) The feature length movie "Down Among the Z-Men"
And many, many more episodes of both The Telegoons and The Goon Show.
For example: "The Case of the Mukkinese Battle".
And keep your your eyes open for,"The Running, Jumping & Standing Still Film"
Made by and starring: Richard Lester, Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Mario Fabrizi, Bruce Lacey, David Lodge and a few Beatles..
The whole movie lasts just under 11mins but it's hard to find any clips that are longer than 30secs, on YouTube. So, if anyone can find the full movie please put up a limk tomit, as quick as you can. Many people would be gratefully obliged for that kindness.
* "Kif" was the name for the herbal form of marijuana; which had yet to be outlawed in the UK, in the 1950s, and was really only used by the (east) Indian community and a few old "Indian hands"; and was relatively easy to find in Indian grocery stores. It wasn until the 1960s that the UK found another way to harsh peoples' mellow by banning it.

Man, I can see what may have happened to a generation of childern who were forced to watch the first three, gawd help them.
But the last one?
An astonishing amount of alliteration, and some alluded to alcohol, for a pirate soul.
"... 'eres yar morning cuppa, Cap'ain" (at 1:24) form the crew hold. As if they were grinding beans/ dipping bags or straining down there, and heating up the kettle. It was form a bottle, certain of it. Why else name this episode "Down The Hatch" correct?
Damn fine find me fiend.
Yet, in the Snopes detective work that they do, there was no mention of "Willy" and this gives one pause.
Willy must have been deep inside the Black Pig.
I dinna ken, but I say, thank ye, Sir Daemon, for this excellent exploration of early morning entertainment for the children of the Isles.
DRINK! of black ink for the likes of ye

I think most of us did actually. There is this interview form an 2002 issue with him online. That`s how I got word of him. I took it backwards so to say.givemesomepils wrote:https://www.youtube.com/user/stanhopetv
