Thoughts On Trump and The Freak Show That Surrounds Him?

Post by Mister Priapus »

Because I'm the kind of guy that occasionally likes to throw fuel on the fire.

I'm not saying I'm for him or against him. It's just that every day this guy's plot seems to thicken and I got to face palm and go, "only in America."

Just want to get the sauced perspective.

Trump is what blue collar 'Murrica likes best: A loud, brassy blonde with fake hair and tits, who talks loud and promises you heaven and hell, but in the end, you wake up with a strange find who has black eyeliner running down her face and she's vomiting on your chaise in the morning.

"I know he can Get the job, but can he Do the job?"

Free shot for anyone who knows that line form a small movie back in the day.

"Why I love Donald Trump" by Dr Jones

I like and respect Dr Ricky L. Jones and this op-ed piece is good.

I thought that it was telling of his real focus whn he skipped that one debate and his big statement was "let's see what kind of ratings that they get without me..."

Duby-etee-ef, Don. We live in a society, man. No matter how co-opted and corporate and sponsored it has gotten, this is the democratic process. This is not about ratings.

Only in US that kind of person can even be a candidate for a president. I thought those days when the one who shouts the loudest wins were over. Well think again. That man with a dead bird on his head could actually be as retarded as George W. Bush himself only with more radical ideas. My thought is - if you are dumb enough to elect him - you deserve a shit storm that is bound to happen.

Actually, it's an orangutan pelt.

Yes, I'm pretty sure Trumpy the Clown has been stealing a few tricks from the Mein Kamph playbook...

I voted for Cruz in the Illinois primary, but if it's going to be Trump vs. Hillary, I'm going to skip this ine. It'll be the first November election I've skipped in the 32 years since I was old enough to vote. I get the feeling that no matter which one of them gets elected, we're going to get screwd, that America is going to go bankrupt like Greece or Venezuela. I'm even thinking of going exile. Right now my choices are either Switzerland or Israel, but any country with a modern economy that would allow me to buy a decent gun would be welcome. BTW, this is the first post I'm typing on my new phone.

One problem I've had is that my sure prediction that he will be the next President is often mistaken for support. My man was Carson, even though I had misgivings that he was too gentle a soul for the job. But as soon as Trump and Megyn Kelly got into it at that first debate, I just knew he was going to blow everyone out this election. So far my prediction has held.

I don't believe Trump is Hitler, Mein Kampfing his way into the White House. I think that's a meme introduced by his detractors, and one that comes from emotional desperation. Besides, Hitler was a teetotaler with a stick up his ass, who happened to have a likeable public persona. I don't see the same kind of thing in Trump.

With Trump I see a bit of a hedonist who represents the America that Roman Bellic from GTA IV seeks; fast-food, cheap gas, and big American titties. He represents an America that is both trashy and majestic. He's going to beat whomever gets nominated on the Dem side because he's got more "alpha" charisma than either Clinton or Sanders. He's easier to listen to than Sanders. He knows that American voters don't want to listen to Sanders' gravelly ass old man voice for four years, regardless of what he promises. Whereas if Clinton gets the nomination, Trump will shut her down like he did Kelly. He'll also snatch up all the Dem voters who are pro-legalization and who will be mad if Clinton gets the nomination. Which brings me to my next point....

Notice how we still don't know where trump stands on some issues. We know where he stands on immigration but do we have a clue about cannabis legalization? That's Sanders' biggest issue so if Clinton gets the nomination Trump can come out for legalization and snatch up all the Sanders supporters. If Sanders gets the nomination Trump can rally conservatives against legalization. Trump has this flexibility because he's controlling the discourse about him. Everybody's too busy going, "did you hear what that motherfucker just said?" instead of focusing on what he hasn't said yet.

So, yeah, that guy's going to be the next President. I just don't know how I feel about it yet.

Trump used to be quality, sensationalist entertainment back when he was trashing Rosie O' Donnell (basically like shooting carp in a barrel) and cranking up good ratings for NBC on Thursday nights. Now, he's just a menace. And it really isn't Trump himself that concerns me, so much as it is the cult of personality he's created and those sound-byte simpletons who are charmed by his every blustering word. It'll only get worse; that's my prediction.
