Too Late?

Am I too late? Nearly 50 and still, as Frank puts it, stuck in the grey lockstep toward Death.

I was a hell raiser and ultimate partier till my mid 30's. Then I found the right woman and settled down to work toward the American Dream. Now it's just a fucking blur through the week with my nightcaps. Cutting loose on the weekends as adulating allows. It fucking sucks.

Is there any hope or do I just play it out till retirement and booze it up till the afterlife?

Ya know, there's something to be said for getting a serious drink on consistently, all the while making that cash.

we've witnessed glorious fiery crashes.

Is it better to be remembered for doing that, cool as it might appear,

or being remembered until the next time you tipple/sip/chug/guzzle, and then re-create your path?

Hope sucks. People that believe in hope waste most of their lives waiting for it to kick in. However a person who has given up hope is perfectly free to enjoy themselves. -G.Carlin
