For you, perhaps...

Sir Winston Churchill is the CORRECT!!! answer.
Grab yourself another pitcher of martini while I update the scores.
Yes, did you know Churchill couldn't stand FDR's martinis? Too much damn dry vermouth.

Oh, also...

Fascinating stuff.

You know, I used to hang out with Yoda behind Hogwarts smoking soylent green, listening to Spinal Tap and Deathklök in the Batmobile.

On with the show!

Booze trivia demands more booze trivia for the sake of booze trivia.
Just as I am keeping myself occupied in order to distract my mind from the exquisite pain I'm feeling!

So then, without any further doodle-fluff or ass-stuffing, let's do this thing.
The category is: Freestyle Medication
Let's set the value at +10 points to ALL CONTESTANTS who lock in a satisfactory answer.

*If I had my wisdom tooth extracted this morning, what type of alcohol would I most likely drink to amplify the pain mitigating effects of my prescription meds?

It feels like a surly gang of leprechauns having a dance contest in my mouth while wearing ice cleats and smoking PCP.
Then again,
Pain can sometimes build character, or it can be channeled into serving as a muse.
Dance on, you dusted leprechauns!

One would suggest Ever clear on content grounds, but one suspects that some congener derived cause may be at play the way the question is posed.
BTW, Sailor Jerry with 151 and Blue Curiaco with a splash of tonic and lime is sublime. Late afternoon porch drinking is wonderful.
Cheers to you all and Wink especially.

Creme de menthe, because it's minty and we all know that mintiness is the cornerstone of dentistry. There is also plenty of sugar in it to rebuild your neglected tooth stump

Interesting indeed that folks are recommending their favorite potents.

Now, black rum is always helpful in any condition and/or situation. Instead of that, however, you mentioned pain meds.

So, beer. That's like water, and no need to tax the liver. My liver will be audited someday because it eschews being taxed.

My auditor will be the coroner. I will be coroneted with a bottle of black rum.

Here's a DRINK! to your heading ole chap. Sorry to hear about your pain in the head part.

Stay away from the sugary stuff. It may make the already inflamed nerve endings angry.

Anything over 100 proof/ 50% abv. I would go with an Islay scotch, Laphroaig Triple Wood. Though it may be blasphemy I would pour it over a glassful of ice. Crushed ice. You sip the booze and let a little sliver or two of ice in to sooth the aching socket.

I'd recommend something with a degree of salinity to help keep the wound from getting infected. Citrus juice will hurt to all buggery but also will help in the long run. So double strength margaritas on the rocks with a touch of sea salt in the mix. Probably washed down with a pilsner to cleanse the palate and remove the aftertaste of the anaesthetic

Okay, question is CLOSED!!!

Your humble host is very pleased by the thoughtfulness of your answers,
And with a warm and fuzzy buzz
He may be prone to speak of himself in the third person.

Let's review...

Sounds like paradise. I imagine the 151 gives it a nice, spicy kick. Cheers back at you, sir.
Mr. Viking wrote:Creme de menthe...
Redolent of dentistry and mouthwash, to be sure. But "creme de menthe" sounds so fancy and provincial. And there's no fucking cream in it either! Where is your sense of outrage over this? Down with the liqueur aristocracy! VIva la schnapps!
mistah willies wrote: Now, black rum is always helpful in any condition and/or situation....
Yessiree. Those are the kind of potents you want to stock in your first aid. Dark rum infused with cloves, bay leaf and sometimes birch bark was a powerful folk remedy and a precursor to the patent medicines that were prevalent throughout the nineteenth century.

Thanks for making me drool. Would a bottle of Oban suffice?

Hmmmm... a salty margarita doubling as an antiseptic rinse? Well played, and thoughtful as per your usual posts.

You've all received +10 points on this round.
Many thanks for the advice and sentiments, fellow Drunkards.

I'll also point out that the Creme in creme de fraise/menthe/violette all refer to the texture of the drink and not the presence of any dairy products

I'm drinking too much. It's spoiling my trivia game.
Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.
