here's my favorite version of a great song. it's because of smoking after drinking and yet playing it and tuning his guitar with perfect ear during the middle. true gregg. RIP young man.

RIP Greg Allman
A true musical talent that definitely lived the rock star lifestyle - which likely led to his ultimate demise. Back in the early 80's I was working at an ABC Liquor store in Ormond Beach FL - one night Greg showed up to buy a half pint of schnapps for whatever road trip he was on at the time - he was in his "I just got divorced from Cher" phase and really partying hard while playing at clubs around Daytona Beach. When I heard the news over the weekend, I dug out the Live at the Fillmore CD set, grabbed the Maker's Mark out of the cabinet and a sort of clean glass to settle in to listen to that start to finish - great stuff - he is unfortunately gone too soon.
