By the "weekday drop" I mean that last drop of booze where, due to adult responsibilities, you have to cut yourself off thereafter in order to make it in the morning for, in my case, 6am deliveries in two states.
It is a mandatory drop, pleasurable in its acquisition but always a depressing sight at its finale.
Do you keep the timing of the last drop at safe levels? Dare to push it into new territories?
How bad of a hangover could you work with, anyways?

Re: The Endless Tragedy of the Weekday Drop
Interesting. As you doubtless might have found, some suffer for three days of being DRY until the weekend occurs again. The weekend is usually pretty predictable in its occurrence, and sadly, I need to be as well.
However, due to my responsibility to our lord Bacchus, I have found it manageable to have just enough each morning to continue being somewhat reasonable during the day (when talking to other sad bastards who have their own way of navigating the not-ocean), with a knowing mind of returning to my evening repast. Home again, home again, jittery jug.
I truly think that it's the right of a man to drink as he will when it's his own damn time to do so, as long as he can take care of the rest of the world during his off-drinking time.

Re: The Endless Tragedy of the Weekday Drop
Sundays I go full tilt, sometimes three hours before the alarm goes off. Sometimes I crash at 8 p.m. already. I don`t plan this. If I don`t feel either drunk or sleepy I`ll just go on. Mondays thru fridays I`ll most often, not always, go on cold sweat mode. I call it the non-fun days.
Drink!

I just realized that this thread is basically a reformulation of Patchez' "Adulting" thread. My bad.

I concur. Complete and utter whore. This probably belongs in one of his myriad dedicated threads, but I heard that his beard got into trouble for fondling a midget stripper.Artful Detective wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:31 amWait. Not at all. You'v given this thread it's own unique flavor. Just like that last little bit of whiskey left in the glass.

Was Patchez the one with the avatar of the guy raising his drink in the air to the whole bar?Artful Detective wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:31 amWait. How come Patchez has so many dedicated threads now? I agree- Who is he and what a whore! Whoever he may be!
If so, and I think I'm right on this, I miss seeing that avatar.
The gent's facial expression and bodily configuration implored a certain respect and enjoyment for booze that I haven't seen communicated elsewhere in visual form.

Yes indeed, that's him. You should know that he appreciates good bar tenders and he tips well, as is proper.Nausea wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2017 3:06 pmWas Patchez the one with the avatar of the guy raising his drink in the air to the whole bar?

If the bartender fails, by his standards, he calls them Eddie and might challenge them to a fist fight.
In every other instance, he is the life of the party, and if there is no party, he creates one in his general vicinity, without even trying.
Re: The Endless Tragedy of the Weekday Drop
I am pushing the Weekday Drop today to new levels: in honor of the two full beers I have acquired in those cups below my avatar, I shall drink two Cutthroat Porters in addition to my usual whiskey sippage.
This should be a safe shift to the frontier, but if it isn't, fuck you 5am me! Laffles.

That AV was from Barfly. Also yes I am a whore. So popular in fact I'm opening up Bubblez as a new location.
