Have you considered a van down by the river?
Que video. Hey. at least you can relocate at will. And 50K would buy an awesome used RV, not just a shitty van!

Urban nomads are getting more popular. I have a friend who sold his house and bought an RV. He's parked near work, so he literally has a 50 foot commute home. And with the money he saves, he can buy a lot more liquor too. He might be on to something.

Sammy - did you go to Alaska?

I have a friend who lives in Anchorage and works for the State. In fact, I talked to him just last weekend. I don't think you'd last long in AK with only $50K in the bank. Everything has to be flown in, so everything is expensive, especially booze. And Anchorage has a big crime problem.

But it is a beautiful place. I plan to do a full blown tour a year from now for my 60th birthday. My buddy told me the time to be there is the summer solstice, which is only two weeks away, so that's why I'm shooting for next year. 20+ hours of sunlight per day and all that. I'm talking cruise, train tour, plane tour. The whole nine yards. I figure it'll cost me at least $5K. If I live to be 60!

But Huge, if you expect to receive SSD soon, which I gather you are based on your age, then why not become an expat? Can you speak Spanish? Then maybe Spain is for you. I hear you can live well in Barcelona for about $1200/month.

Bottom line. Don't go to AK Huge. You'd never survive the winter. You don't sound the type. But I think you'd do well in Spain. And they have water.
Did you go or not?

There are other places you might consider.
Libertarians are quite accepting of differing viewpoints.
For them, is all about personal liberty; fuck the machine.

Here's one, in a lovely read. It's in New Hampshire.

You guys should read this just to see about the woman who kept a guard llama on her property. I didn't know that llamas had sharp teeth to fight with

No, I didn't. I ended up buying a new house a year ago and all of my expendable cash has been pouring into that. Who knows when, or if, I'll get there. There are still many thousands to spend before this house is where I want it to be.

If you lived in New Hampshire, you'd be weaponizing llamas right now.

There's another small, abandoned town for sale. Sixteen buildings in various states of disrepair for only $144 K, not including the surrounding farmland which is worth considerably more per acre.

Alas, my dreams of securing a zipcode for the town of Satan's Sizzling Balls, ND go unrealized.

Mayor Badfellow,

ThirstyBird reporting in. Where'd you want the third distillery?

I think about escaping to a different State, or maybe even a different Country, all the time. But I'm too lazy for that, so I just stay put.
