Here's to hoping he's floating around the Galaxy sucking up all those alcohol molecules out there. Hope he saves some for me.

I'll bet that all of us Modern Drunkards will meet up on a different sort of exo-planet out there in the vast expanse of space and time
with those onward, mighty MDMers who now explore beyond our currently restricted Earthly plane of existence. They might be exo-stence.

It'd be an island-shaped planet that can't be detected by telemetry, nor Hubble or what have you.

It can only be detected by Ethyl-wave formations.

It's called "Dark Matter" by the scientists,

but we here know it as "Blackout Island" and it's exquisite. Imagine a Tiki bar and you might have it.

I've been away too long. I cannot believe I didn't enjoy more of their lives if only by posting on a site.
BMMS, hopefully you have rested in peace and now I will stir you awake for some spirit frivolity.
RIP my friend.

Hey all....I don't come around here much anymore, so I missed this thread from last September.

If you got a text or call from a 207 number last September (yeah, Rooster, that was probably me) saying BMMS had passed away, yes, it was from me. We've lost a lot of people from this board over the 15+ years since I first joined, but this one hit home a lot harder for me than the others, because BMMS and I had maintained frequent contact even after both of us had more or less stopped coming here. When I got married in 2010, I only invited family and very close friends....and he was invited. I realized last September that I hadn't heard from him in a long time, so I went back through my text history, and found that I had texted him 4-5 times over the past year, but had never gotten an answer. So I jokingly sent out a text saying "Hey, you still alive or what?", only to get a response from the individual that NYDIngbat referenced earlier in the thread, saying he knew of no "BMMS". I got concerned, because he hadn't been in a particularly good frame of mind the last few times I had spoken to him. 20 minutes on Google later, I found his obituary (http://www.lloydmaxcy.com/obituaries/20 ... -f-murray/)

Rather than start a thread here about it, I decided I would privately contact the people I knew who knew him and would want to know what had happened. Maybe he wouldn't have cared, but I felt like I should respect his privacy and not splash his passing on a message board; even this one, which I know he loved. I don't have any insight or information into what happened, though I have thought about contacting his brothers to let them know that he was a good man, a good friend, and that he's missed....by a lot of people they probably don't even know exist.

Anyway, I'm glad that GG did post this here, and that he's remembered.
Hope all of you are well

I met him at the last Mass Con or whatever they had named it. Along with Screwball, Dingy, Veen, Oggar, Slushfund and Sterno Boy (I think), Johnny Swagger, and others. I can't remember their handles on here and I won't spew out their names.

He seemeda genuinely nice guy and a msichiveous sun of a bitch as well. I left my phone out at one point and he had spent most of the morning trying to unlock it so he could fuck with my contacts.

I would have like to got time to visit him or vice versa.

DD'ed with him quite a bit after Slushfund's Mass Con or whatever the fuck we called it - I had called him a while ago and didn't hear back. I'll call tomorrow and let everybody know what I find out.
Alrighty. Had a pleasant text conversation with a fella who now has BMMS's cell #. He said he wasn't him, but thought Beer Makes Me Smart was a funny board name. I advised I'd spread the word that's no longer BMMS's #, but that he'd probably get some funny DDs from people who put the D in DD. He was fine with it - seemed to be lookin' forward to it!

Anyway. I'm still diggin' a little, but I don't know how far I'll get. Can't get a death certificate without cause. I know he and his brother and sister were enormous shitbirds to him over the care of his sick - and now deceased - Dad. He bore the brunt of the care - and Dad didn't make it easy for him. So far I haven't found an obituary - either I just haven't found it yet or his brother and sister's final act of shitbirdedness was to not so much as publish an obit for the guy.

I'll keep lookin'.
It is with sadness I inform you that our buddy, BeerMakesMeSmart, John to those of us who had the pleasure of meeting him outside the board, passed away on September 13th, 2017.

Cheers, Slainte and Rest In Peace, pal.
Thanks for you research NYD. miss that fucker, I remember when he was gonna give it all up and come work for me. That work have been a fun shitshow.
