The song "Africa" by Toto
Really?

"The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become"

Really?

To me, it's difficult to imagine anyone thinks there is a 50/50 chance that this song is good.

This line, by itself, makes me wonder what the A&R guy was thinking when this song was approved.

A&R Guy: Hey boss, that band Toto is the next Bob Fucking Dylan. Maybe better. Definately better than Carole King. Listen to these lyrics... "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti." Brilliant. Just fucking brilliant!

Boss: Jesus. You're right, I think. Listen, this is my last day here at the record label, and I'm fucking drunk and stoned, and I've done a bunch of blow. So, yea. I trust your judgement. Let's go with that Australia song by Tootie.

A&R Guy: Africa, by Toto.

Boss: Whatever.

I think it boils down to the fact that I have heard it so many times it doesn't quite have the same affect on me anymore. I wouldn't say it's lost it's appeal either nor would I turn the channel if it came on, hence the support of my ambivalence.

To me it's also kind of like Alan Parsons "Eye in the Sky". Definitely don't hate it but...meh.

^^^^ And then, there's The Logical Song by Supertramp.

Those lazy motherfuckers went to Barnes and Noble, purchased a rhyming dictionary and quickly scratched out a top-fucking-40 hit with this:

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily
Oh joyfully, playfully watching me
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible
Logical, oh responsible, practical
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable
Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical...

Total crap!

DB has had his own band. I bet he doesn`t have the guts to post it. We would over analyse the hell out of it

Reading stories in the news about animals giving birth at the zoo. I know... I should be more excited.

Molly Ringwald's acting

Saabs

The Blade Runner remake. I think I aged 30 years waiting for it to end.

Milky Way candy bars - there are so many better ones out there.

McDonald's fish fillet sandwich - " ^ ^ ^ "

The song Blue Monday by New Order. I liked it 100 years ago but now...meh.

Jarred queso like Tostitos brand. Any drunk would eat it but is it really good???

I'm with you on all that shit. But there's only eight things. How 'bout I add two more:

Coors. I don't hate the shit, but it doesn't suck.
Pancakes. They aren't waffles.

Jimmy Lester who the fuck asked you? Nobody gives a fking shit about your ambivalence. Fuck.

No but seriously, these are good and I agree. I too, am ambivalent about both Coors and pancakes. Glad to know I'm not the only ambivalent asshole out there.
And I'll take some Eggo waffles any day.
