Autumn drinks

Post by Artful Drunktective »

As a self admitted lazy drunkard I would most likely never make Boozy Apple Cider but it looks pretty freaking good whatever it is.

Image

BOOZY APPLE CIDER

INGREDIENTS
1 gal. apple cider
1 1/2 c. whiskey, preferably Fireball
1/2 c. Caramel
3 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
8 apples
lemon juice, for brushing

DIRECTIONS
In a Crock-Pot, combine apple cider, whiskey, cinnamon sticks, and caramel. Cook on low until warmed through, about 2 to 3 hours.
Make apple cups: Slice off the top of each apple. Use an apple corer to remove the inside of the apple until you’re about 1/2" from the bottom of the apple. Squeeze lemon juice inside the apple cups to prevent apples from browning.
Ladle hot cider into apple cups. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, and serve immediately.
Okole maluna!

Those apple drinks do actually look quite tempting. I never touch fireball, but I bet those beverages would turn out just as well with some bourbon.

I'd do the bourbon for sure with these. Fireball is swill to the highest degree. I have flashbacks of that fucking cinnamon. Sipping through those cinnamon sticks is iffy, those things are abrasive

Agreed and thank you, gents. Had I not lived up to the aforementioned lazy drunkard I claimed to be and read the recipe, I too, would pass on the Fireball and any cinnamon related schnapps etc. I think I like the idea of the picture and any idea that involves drinking out of fruit or vegetable vestibules and throwing in whatever concoction in it as long as it mixes well. Pumpkin might make me want to hurl a little bit but if this was at a party I would give it a shot.

What's up with these cinnamon stick straws?? Ugh, has anyone actually put one of those in their mouth, they'd be overbearing on any other flavor

Someone fibbing on these.photos

Looks good aside from those cinnamon sticks

You could always use the cinnamon stick as garnish and just drink it as you would would out of any cup. Cinnamon stick straws aren't that bad once a year. Cinnamon flavored whiskey is another story.

This is definitely the 4th grade soccer tournament. And they're gonna need refreshments.

I am guessing the cinnamon sticks are not straws but used as swizzle sticks, kinda like in hot chocolate. Or like a celery stick in a Bloody Mary.

This is via a bartender drunkard friend:

Rye pumpkin smash and pumpkin mimosa specials at the bar today. Sold out. Here's where I got the original recipe if you want to give it a try. I used rye instead of bourbon because rye is a little more spicy where bourbon tends to be sweeter.

That one cocktail served in a pumpkin might be worth trying for the hell of it, if you ask me! I'm usually more of a classic guy (whisky mixed with two ice cubes, beer mixed with more beer...) but I'm slowly warming up to cocktails, and that could be a fun thing to offer at a party...

Your open-mindedness is a fresh welcome and appreciated, fine drunkard. I'm not one to be doing all this either but I think it would be fun to play around with some of these recipes. And I'd sure as hell try one if it was at a party. Why not?

Oh and please introduce yourself to us drunks HERE Cheers!

Fall Harvest Sangria

This recipe is one that we found at Boyer's after the Apple Harvest Festival this year.

https://www.boyercellars.com/

2 bottles of spiced apple wine
1 bottle of crab apple hard cider or any tart hard cider
2 cups of fresh cider
4 oz of Salted Caramel syrup(SC vodka or SC brandy can be used to punch it up.
3 fresh apples sliced

Stir together and lets sit for 24 hours.
Serve.
This will also be served along with the traditional Hot Buttered Rum for Trick or Treat again this year.
Now you're ready for some anti-dry-otics!-BeerMakesMeSmarter

If worms had daggers, birds wouldn't fuck with them-Todd Snider

Blackout and be extraordinary-Absinthe of Malice
