Carl's Jr. was just the way I remembered it, from fifteen years ago. Empty, save us, and one sad old guy gumming his din. Hint: do not order a drink. Sugar overload >gag< I switched to a milkshake, but it was just so-so. I ordered one of those California chicken sandwiches. So sad compared to my own version. First off, I make a teriyaki marinade and soak my birds. Then I whip up a sauce that will rip the roof of your mouth off (if you are a weeny, or from New England)
My little granddaughter loves that sauce. She inhaled one of my chicky-chili burgers with a smile on her beautiful little two year old face.
Cop cars roared by a few times. Kind of a scary neighborhood, I guess. I do not understand why Grumpy likes "fast food" I feel like it is the food of last resort.

Holy crap, my dear! I didn't know they had that much sh*t on the menu! Of course, I am old enough to remember that sliced beef sandwich with the limp weak pepper and some velveeta-ish cheese. I was so thin when my mother begged me to come home that I think those sandwiches kept me alive until I husked out again and could buy grown up girl jeans. This week, I think the chicken version raised my blood pressure forty points and larded me with couple of pounds of fat and even more water weight. I eat fast food so very rarely that I do not believe I have ever eaten any while drunk. So I have no excuse.

Had brie in a bread bowl the other day. Magnificent! Easy and excellent for drunk munchies.



If you ever want to kick it up a notch like if you are hosting a party, wow your guests and make brie en croute. Lay the brie in the middle of a pastry sheet crust. Spread some sort of preserves or berries on top of it, and throw down some slivered almonds or favorite nuts if youw ant. Wrap the crust around the brie and bake it. It's a crowd pleaser, not to mention it looks all fancy n' shit.

I went and bought a 3/4lb. chicken breast, free range organic prepped in batter, bread crumbs, cheese and marinara sauce otherwise known as chicken parmigian. It's basically fried chicken but it must be finished in a hot oven for about 15min. It was the best!

I made Grumpy birthday lasagna last night. Now he is in the bedroom b&f garlic and sausage and snoring like he was paid by the decibel to do it, so I have escaped for a quiet prosecco. You are another victim of Italian food. You have to go slow and not overeat. The pasta hits your stomach and then it must expand to be digested. God forbid you overdose on ricotta/sausage and parsely ravioli. Those are lethal depth charge packets going into your stomach to explode.

Nothing like k-bobs of thick chunks of free range organically grown chicken breast in some kind of Sicilian marinade charbroiled to perfection. Veggies on the skewer, red/green bell peppers, red onions and a pile of preservative free coleslaw finished the plate.
