fish and chips is drunk food in the states??? you crazy cunts.Artful Drunktective wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 9:32 amYeah obviously it's nothing special- a sports bar with billiards- but I don't specifically go there for that (but after a few drinks it becomes a "Sure, why not?" sort of thing). They also have a huge spread of darts which I'm actually a bigger fan of. There are about 6 locations or so of them in the Midwest and they encompass all the things I love about a bar.
It was always dark inside no matter what time of day, and it was really spacious like a mini casino so even when it was busy, you could spread out.
It had a decent enough ambiance to attract all sorts of people but not above having some spill stains on the carpeted areas.
It had every sport imaginable for viewing (including PPV events) for those into that. Having a lot of home town teams, there was always camaraderie.
The menu was diverse and affordable, consisting of all the delicious and necessary drunk bar foods in addition to hearty drunken meals such as chicken fried steak, fish n' chips, chipotle chicken Alfredo with garlic bread, or even bacon wrapped pork medallions.
Bathrooms with toilet paper always.
Conveniently located to my house.
They had something for every drunkard! There was even a jukebox with a wide array of music. We always looked around the bar and joked at who picked what song as they came on. I had a lot of great times there and still do when I make my way back. So I felt it deserved some recognition...
...and also to change the topic on this thread to be cleansed from the taint of Thirsty Birdy always popping up.

Haha! BB69, should it not be? And if not, please enlighten for a laugh. Us 'Murrican crazy cunts like greasy deep fried stuff so it makes sense to me as I have loved fish n' chips frozen dinners as a wee lass and even more so as I grew into a hardcore drunkard ass. But... I am very curious as to why you find it crazy. Because it is a more refined dinner in the UK? I love learning about drunkard cultural differences in cuisine.
I lived on a tropical island where they served mahi mahi fish n' chips with a tartar sauce that had pineapple chunks in it. Honestly...it was the best thing ever. And they charged an arm and a leg for it to the tourists.
I think if you slap on a Hawaiian name for a fish like mahi, ono, and ahi...people will pay up the arse for it, rather than calling it "cod" or "pollock". Stupid tourists. I'd eat it no matter what it's name is.

the Hawaiian fish and chips sounds the best!!! could nail that with a cheeky mai tai or twenty... I dunno man I could see it being class drunk food now that I think about it...especially if they fried the cod in finger eatin sized chunks so you could just grab and scoop your mushy peas while keeping your other hand free for beer. I'd fuck with it.

Re: My Favorite Bar
Going to one of the oldest pubs in South London tonight. It is family run. A great selection of ales, good food... but best of all it has a pig called "Frances Bacon" (it's female) that they let out at closing to eat up all all of the dropped crisps, peanuts and whatnot.

Rick: I'm a drunkard.
Captain Renault: That makes Rick a citizen of the world.
