No one drinks Miller High Life... unless you're dead broke. When I got out of the Army I use to budget $10 to get me drunk, buy beer, AND eat well every night. Needless to say, I was in impeccable shape.

9/15... that quiz was kind of difficult at times. Good thing I had a cold PBR to help me.

I only pulled off a 9/15. I'm a little disappointed in myself. Also surprised to learn that lagers are more heavily consumed than ales. Well, ya learn something new everyday. I'm done now, so I guess it's time to go home and have a beer.

I can't see or take the quiz but judging by the poll this might not be a bad thing. "What is your favorite style of beer: lager, stout, pilsner, or ale?". Lager is a category of fermentation that pilsner falls into and ale is a category of fermentation that stout falls into.

Time for me to head to Oktoberfest! At least that's what the thingy says... Guess my friend Clay Broome will have to do that for me, as he is leaving on Thursday for a mini-tour in Europe. Missed 1 out of 15. The most popular beverage almost got me, but I thought tea was number one. Whee! :)

That's not true.
If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

I did discover my new favorite term, fear of an empty glass. Won't post and give any spoilers. ;-)

Dez is correct. I buy it all the time. I like it. I hate the whole "You must be poor to be enjoying that beer." kind of thing. I've tasted some beers where it cost me 7 bucks for a bottle and to my taste buds doesn't taste good at all. So what? Isn't taste a personal thing? I've been to a restaurant where I've had a $70 steak and I've been to a dive bar who makes a better steak. Do you think I only like the cheaper steak because of the cash in my pocket or is it what my tongue tells my brain what I find delicious. I think sometimes our society makes us believe that the more things cost the better they are. Taste is taste.
I'll miss you, pallie.

I agree with you on the whole. But c'mon, let's not go dressing the High Life up in a tuxedo calling it champagne. It is what it is, affordable mass-produced beer, neither offensive nor particularly memorable. It doesn't really matter anyway, considering that the vast majority of light American lager drinkers base their preferences on brand loyalty and association with advertising. There really isn't that much difference between a Miller and a Bud when compared to all the beer that's out there. Occasionally the good shit does cost a little more, and it's worth it. Just sayin.

11/15

Miller High Life is just as good as any other crappy American rice lager. I believe the "Champagne of Beers" slogan goes back decades to when High Life was Miller's top of the line beer.
"You people terrify me. You're like some sort of Unholy Trinity of drunken viking maniacs." - Nil

"You know, I'm surprised that someone who looks like the aging love child of Big Bird and Snuffaluffagus would bring physical appearance into this." - Oggar

It dulls pain, makes the sun shine brighter, and makes boring people more interesting.

I drank a 12 of the High Life last night. I say it taste as good as the rest of the "big" American crap beers(that cost more). Of course I'm on the idiot side of the quiz: 7 of 15.

That's all I was saying ;) It's all cheap light American swill that has to be served ice cold and bites at your face (not the good way) on the first pull. I'd still rank PBR higher. I'd also drink 20 high lifes before I had a couple Beasts or Busches. At least the high life fry your taste buds after you choke down the first one, whereas those others make sure you savor every nasty drop.

Sure taste is subjective, but there is a reason why sites such as ratebeer.com exist. If you get enough people together you can get a somewhat objective opinion on a beer.

High Life is in the 2nd percentile.

My favorite beer, Dragon's Milk, is in in 94th percentile.

Hence, High Life sucks. If you want to drink it, go ahead. If you paid $7 for a beer and didn't like it, I hope you gave it to someone else. I drank a $40 bottle of beer and it was heaven.
