ST. CHARLES, Mo. - What the ...? A St. Louis-area town is considering a bill that would ban swearing in bars, along with table-dancing, drinking contests and profane music.
City officials contend the bill is needed to keep rowdy crowds under control because the historic downtown area gets a little too lively on some nights.
City Councilman Richard Veit said he was prompted to propose the bill after complaints about bad bar behavior. He says it will give police some rules to enforce when things get too rowdy.

a ban on swearing? yeah right. What are they gonna put a cop in every bar and arrest everyone? Meanwhile, murderers and rapists run amuk.
I think a quarter jar would suffice. If I wanna say "fuck" every other word then I deserve to buy everyone shots.

Seriously, the people who try to make that kind of legislation are the same people who would never step foot in a bar in the first place.
If they have a problem with noise, damages, etc. OUTSIDE of the bars, that's one thing, but don't bring those puritanical rules inside those walls. It makes no sense.

If swearing in pubs was illegal where I live I know one old fella who'd be doing life. I have NEVER heard anyone swear so much for no reason, it's really funny. If he wanted you to pass the newspaper it's be like this: "Have ya' done wiv that fucking cunt? Then pass the fuckin' bastard 'ere.". The only time he speaks without swearing is when he's ordering a drink from a female server. And he's a proper drinker as well. Hail Raymondo!
