I have been following NBA ball since 1960 (I was 8yrs-old). I am a Lakers fan...they're the best -- fuck the rest!
I know fizzmaster (and his bastard, mofo Celtics team) is with me.
Are there any true pro-basketball fans on the forum? If not, I can EASILY bump this thread for years, just on my own recollections and drunken fantasies.
So speak up -- who's your team and how're they doing?

Here's Wilt Chamberlain taking it in on Zelmo Beatty (31), Bob Pettit (9) Lenny Wilkins (14) and I believe(?) Charlie Share (number obscured).

The Nuggets are 15 - 4 since they got Chauncey back.
Still, PM me in april. I'm gonna go back to cussing out football right now.

Yeah, but that Oden guy already looks as old as Robert Parish did...when the Chief was in his 21st season.Sleestack wrote: Haha!! That's funny!

I think Greg Oden is really Dikembe Mutombo in drag (and slower).

My team is the Cleveland Cavaliers. They're 20-4, doing just fine. See you in the Finals, Peetie.

That and they actually have a couple of real NBA guards. It doesn't have to be LBJ all the time, every time. we need big Z back though.peetie44[Claus] wrote:I like that Cleveland team a lot. Doesn't Z have chronic ankle/foot problems, like Bill Walton used to?JonathanTequila wrote:That and they actually have a couple of real NBA guards. he did in the 90's. he's had several surgeries and he's got metal pins in his feet holding it all together. but he's been healthy for several years running now, amazingly. and he has one of the smoothest jump shots I've ever seen for a 7-footer.

Yeah, having a center that can hit a few jumpers means he can play a high post, leaving LJ and the boys some driving room.JonathanTequila wrote:

How's Gibson looking this year (he's a Texas-ex, so I saw him play -- on TV -- in Austin at UT)?

Re: Peetie's NBA Thread
Gibson? Now that's the guy who's hurt all the time. When he's healthy, he's usually a nice spark off the bench. deadly outside shooter. but he's always hurt.peetie44[Claus] wrote:Yeah, having a center that can hit a few jumpers means he can play a high post, leaving LJ and the boys some driving room.JonathanTequila wrote:

Re: Peetie's NBA Thread
Boring, smart, fundamentally sound, and the team you don't want to face in a 7-game series.

Other than Parker, you better make reservations at the Old Folks home for that team.ivan wrote:
