Whenever the cause arises, be it the flu or, the brown bottle flu, I never stick my face in the toilet. I either discharge it into the bathtub or the sink. Never understood why someone would stick their face in a place were piss and shit have been in. And, how about those who after puking rest their head / cheek on the porceline. Not to mention splash-back!
I once threw up in my sock. Got the spinners in bed one night and knew I'd never make it to the bathroom. I fell out of bed and grabbed a sock off the floor and filled that sucker up and then some.

Ur, uh...you don't HAVE to actually put your head INSIDE the toilet when you puke (unless, of course, you really want to). You just need to sort of get your mouth positioned somewhere over the top of the bowl. Gravity (and your stomach) will do the rest.

I guess I'm one of the few that actually cleans my toilet. In fact I wipe it down at least once a day with those Clorox wipes.

If you puke in the toilet, you can just flush it away - job done. No messing around having to clean up sinks and socks etc. Plus, if you keep your toilet clean, it's not that bad!

Puking is kind of embarrassing, you'd rather not do it, or let people know you did it. Going to "take a piss". Then there's the chunks factor.
The last thing that anyone should ever do is feel ashamed of blacking out. You were trying to get drunk last night and, goddamnit, mission accomplished.
