Re: Dear little boys and little girls...

This is the first saturday in a long time that it's been nice in my neck of the woods so I celebrated by selling some old xbox games for booze money and am planning on drinking until I forget the fact that Gamestop only gave me 6.50 for a game I paid 50 bucks for a year and a half ago.

Re: Skinners Pub

I lived in Brookings for 6 years and loved almost every weekend I spent there. From puking behind Goodwill after one too many Backpackers, to those glorious springtime pubcrawls, Brookings will always be a drunkard's town. Skinnner's used to be my early night starting point, it was always moderately...

"World's Most Bizarre Magazines"

I have to disagree with Modern Drunkard making the list.

Jim's Tap

I like to have a drink or nine at a little place called Jim's. On the walls you'll find swords, axes, a boar's head and more. In the men's room, excuse me the LORDS room, a chalkboard can be found above the urinal. Not only does this cut down on senseless vandalism, it gives frustrated poets like my...

Re: FINALLY! Gays can marry in Cali again!

I had a conversation with my conservative mother on this subject as we were watching the news together. She was saying things like "marriage is sacred" and "They can't reproduce, God said go forth and multiply" and for a minute I was upset with my mother. I was really, really upset that the woman wh...

I've tried to describe the feeling to undrunk folk, teetoatalers, and the unenlightened more than once only to come up short of adjectives to wholly and surely encompass the experience of getting loaded. That's why I've come up with a few new words to help in these situations. Radlicious Deerunkifan...

I had to start my backup fantasy football QB Hassleback this week. As a Niners fan I'm in the terrible position of rooting for him to score at least 13 points.

I was sixteen and it was July 3rd. In my hometown we have a big Independence day bash and the night before is usually a pretty hairy time. I was drinking lime vodka straight with light beer chasers. I had been buzzed a few times before, but this was a whole different animal. A friend and I ended up ...

I just got done working a ten hour shift, I work outside though, so I got to enjoy a pretty nice day relatively speaking. The only good part about working on saturdays is working up a healthy booze apettite all day and then getting smashed. Cold beer seems colder after a hard day's work.

I just thought it was overrated, I definitely appreciated it more the second time I had to read it, but I don't like how both teachers treated classics like you had to read them or your life would somehow be incomplete.

Whole 'Nother Level

So two weekends ago I head to a friend's cabin and bring with me a case of good beer, a fifth of bourbon, and a good attitude. We started the trip off with shots and vowed to drink everytime we stopped. Being it was a 5 hour trip and we had undrunk drivers i wholly expected to show up at the cabin w...

Last Saturday some friends and I went to a street dance and got considerably smashed while listening to a classic rock cover band. Some of the highlights included: War-Spill the Wine Guns 'n Roses-Sweet Child 'O Mine Who-Who Are You AC/DC-Have a drink on me Billy Joel-Piano man (not a huge fan of th...

I've always kept a bottle of cheap vodka in the freezer. My liqour cabinent also usually contains a bottle of of decent stuff: ketel, stoli etc. I like a good warm vodka neat now and again but usually I end up drinking it on the rocks or mixed. As for the spouts, not sure if it's a colloquilism or n...

I was browsing the "what are you reading" thread and was going to reply with this book (I'm actually re-reading it for the third time). After reading 4 or 5 pages my short attention span clicked on and I couldn't browse to see if it was mentioned so I did a search and was pleasantly surprised to see...
