Re: I had to call 911 for Liz tonight

Fuck, I hate this world sometimes.

This is one of those times.

Re: A Titan Among Us Has Fallen

I haven't been around much in the last couple of years (obviously) but caught word through Facebook. Wasn't an actual personal friend, but liked his posts. I'm here from Romania to make a toast - with some Bulgarian rakia.

Noroc, Tony - R.I.P.

Re: Return of the Prodigal Sot

Hey, Boozy - how the hell are you, mon ami?

Are you in Bordeaux or some god-forsaken dry war zone?

Re: What I need, is a cook

Care to describe said sandwich prepared by said libertine? Being from the South, I'm not really sure what a genuine Philly cheese steak sandwich is supposed to be, though I have sampled several variations on the theme, some of them quite tasty. I could go for even an inferior one, right about now. G...

Re: 懐石料理

I sort of like the ritual of pouring a little booze on the ground to honor the gods, or those who have passed away, or whatever.

Except that it goes against all my instincts and in my world counts as alcohol abuse.

So I try to make sure it's only a few drops.

Re: Return of the Prodigal Sot

Okay, I'm bored and no one is around, so I'll just blab a little, anyway. I'm sweltering here in Bucharest, drinking Mastika (47.5 %) alone at midnight. Girlfriend went to bed already. I'm trying to avoid turning on the air conditioning until necessary. Mastika isn't a Romanian drink, but the girlfr...

Return of the Prodigal Sot

Thought I'd drop in and say hello. It's been quite a while...

As they say in Romania (where I am now) - Noroc!

That means "cheers".

Re: Beaujolais nouveau

I'm living in Bordeaux now, and the word I get is that Beaujolais Nouveau is sort of a marketing gimmick and that the wines are somewhat overrated. Well yeah... but for those of us stuck in 2nd world cultural wastelands, like New Jersey... it's a nice tradition to have a fun, fruity red to enjoy du...

Re: Beaujolais nouveau

Thanks for the welcome back, people. I've been meaning to drop in - good to see a lot of the same people are still around. I moved from Amsterdam to Bordeaux this year and am looking forward to spending the winter in a slightly less dreary climate. I hope to hook up with El B, I mean Mr. B, before h...

Hey Drunkards, long time... I'm living in Bordeaux now, and the word I get is that Beaujolais Nouveau is sort of a marketing gimmick and that the wines are somewhat overrated. I have no real knowledge of wines, it's just what I heard from a friend... Shout out to El B, with whom I had the pleasure o...
