An epic struggle to stand up. Maybe you've seen this before, but the music makes it much better.

Oh, that would be Thailand or the Phillipines... the plane ticket is out of the budget for this summer though.

Re: International calls a how to question

I suggest using Skype, even though I know you don't want to. It is too hard to get both people online the same time to Skype for free, but you can use Skype to call a cell phone most places for about $.02 a minute.

Single soon... and vacation is near...

It's been a while since I checked in last. I've been living in Korea for almost 2 years now. I am toward the end of a week long "break" which is a prelude to a break up with my girlfriend of 11 months. Honestly, it is mutual, but I will have to do the honers because she doesn't want to feel guilty. ...

Mastodon, I'm on a huge mastodon kick right now. I love them like a cave kid loves actual Mastodon.

Re: Boozing in Thailand this week!

I've seen the Aloe Vera stuff in the stores, but never had the guts to taste it- is it any good? I think the coconut stuff was thai but I'm not sure, my girlfriend recognized some of the products from her visits to Thailand at least, though that doesen't necessarily say it's thai(I don't remember i...

I glad I only have one but man he's a dick.

Same here, fortunately the rotten bastard can't replace me for less than about $1500 and it might take about a month, so I get away with a bit of shit.

Re: Boozing in Thailand this week!

Great research! I haven't really had any asian booze except for the pale lagers, and some strange green tea beer that was gruesome. I've tasted some of the soft drinks though, and some of them are sickly sweet. And they obviously have some obsession with having things floating around in it, like co...

Re: Bacon, Bourbon, Maple Syrup

How about just drinking bourbon on the rocks with your breakfast of bacon, French toast, maple syrup, poached eggs, creamed spinach, and fresh melons at... let's say at 9am ;)

Re: Your longest hazy mile?

I used to walk about 45 minutes to and hour from downtown to a couple places I lived. The main problem with this was the lack of sidewalks, and tons of tall thick weeds. Never done anything near 16 miles, that's a pretty damn good. Reminds of a story my friend's dad told me about when he was in the ...

Re: Boozing in Thailand this week!

UPDATE: White "Whiskey" I am going to try out the Thai white whiskey (rum) right now, having braced myself with one large and strong beer over dinner (with ice strangely enough). I have been able to find very little info and no picture on this drink online, except that is either made from rice or mo...

I barely understand a word she says though, so I usually just go "Yes, mhm? Uh-huh? oh!" When she talks. Haha, I know what you mean! In a situation like that one thing that helps to keep an electronic translator on you. Fortunately, as with most Korean phones mine has a built in translator for 한굴 t...

Boozing in Thailand this week!

I am on vacation for a week in Bangkok! It's raining though, so I am at the hotel going online. I posted a while back about drinking in Korea (http://www.drunkard.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=60635) so this is kind of a short follow up. Basically I haven't been here long enough to get that saturated...

Re: A Long Belated Hello From Korea (a drinkers paradise)!

Hey, Fred... They got a piano in that bar? Excellent info, btw! CHEERS! Keyboard, cheers! Very interesting Fred. Southeast Asia seems overlooked when it comes to heavy drinking cultures, but it sounds great! Thanks for the info. Just East Asia really, between China and Japan. It's fucking cold in t...

Re: A Long Belated Hello From Korea (a drinkers paradise)!

I should mention that one of the most popular dishes, called Samgyupsal, is the same cut of meat as bacon, but without the smoking and salting. It is grilled at the table, dipped in red pepper sauce, wrapped in lettuce or leaves with a variety of sides (always including whole or sliced garlic cloves...
