Interesting Badfellow, how do you like Wellers 107? Does Wellers live up to the hype? Really hard to find it around here.

My feeling is that most bourbons today are overrated. Not because of any flaw in the whiskey itself, but rather because certain labels have been elevated to the status of gods. Delicious as it is, I suppose Weller is no exception.

Definitely agree, bourbon prices and availability have gotten a little out of hand. Never had Blanton's, Pappy, Eagle Rare, or Pappy, and doubt that any of these are worth the severe markup charged by scalpers on the secondary market. Reminds me, I should probably stock up on Four Roses small batch.

No time for hangover. I slept well into the day and got drunk immediately

Yesterday's hangover was pretty weird, and fairly debilitating. A very bad drummer moved in my head, practicing songs that should never be heard by anyone, my stomach did its best imitation of a washing machine reaching its crescendo, and almost every organ and muscle in my body pounded as if they wanted out of this mess. At least, I managed to keep down some ibuprofen and after a couple of hours of more sleep, sometime in the early afternoon hours, the headache subsided to something bearable. But the stomach refused to settle down and it was impossible to vomit. So, I spent most of Sunday horizontal - well, the fetal position - in a dark room. Only after midnight did I start feeling human and could hydrate and watch a movie before going back to bed, deciding against having a beer, lest it turned into another one-man party. At least, today I woke up fairly early and rested, and had a productive Monday, which I'm now celebrating with a cold one.
