Augustiner I've heard of but not tried, the other one is new to me. Yay! New beers. What is Meckatezer like?

Well, it actually is an "Export", tastes very smooth and a little malty and the aftertaste isn't very bitter...

The Augustiner almost completely lacks the bitter aftertaste, that's why I appreciate it so much :)

What is an "Export" to you? Are you really from Bavaria?

Anyway thanks for the recommendations, I can't wait to dig some of that stuff up.

I decided to try my experiment tonight, and I think 4 is my limit for smoked beer. To be honest I had some Oatmeal Stout on the way home, and I do have some Aventinus and Anchor Steam in the fridge as well, so I can't be sure - the temptation is too great.

This test needs a controlled enviroment.

An "Export" is a light lager (is that what you call it? Bright? Light? Well anyway, it's the opposite of dark...) per definition, has about 5,5% alc. and a malty taste.

There might be some slight differences, but I don't know them since I'm just the consumer :)

I'm from Bavaria, that's right... need a proof?

Well, I'm 19, that's why my english is so bad :P
