Well, since people are bring back old threads.....

Pretty much anything with Hemingway.....whiskey, absinthe, or gin and tonics with campari.

White Lightening with Faulkner, and MHL with Buk would be pretty cool, too.

As it stands, I'm quite happy to continue to get good and loaded with my friends on whatever is flowing that night.....

Egil Skallagrimson - Mead and ale. He was the greatest drunkard ever to come out of scandinavia. He was the GG Allin of the Viking Age.

Ok, what movie was it where the guy was on a revenge streak and he was drinking Wild Turkey and he thought about shooting himself but then decided not to and continued his revenge streak instead?

It'd be a blast to get wasted with Mr. Lucas Jackson, War Hero, on whatever booze he's privy to, and then cut the heads off some parking meters out of boredom. You know, small towns, not much to do at night. Mostly just settling some old scores.

Cool Hand Luke is a helluva drunkard. The guy wears a bottle opener around his neck as a pendant. I always tell myself that I need to start doing this, just as I tell myself that I need to start whistling "Peter and The Wolf" when I'm picking up cougars in the produce isle, or procuring dates by way of duping the roommate of a tragically deceased coed. But I never get around to it. Maybe its just one of those things that I want to want to do.

Now here's the thing I've always wondered: Are they kicking back cold ones cold ones on that chain gang? The liquid in those bottles certainly looks like the beautiful amber color of American beer. And the bottle seems shaped like a beer bottle. But maybe I'm showing my age here. I realize that in days of yore all sodas came in glass bottles, and that there were more flavors of soda available than just cola, ginger ale, and lemon lime.

Aha, figured out the movie. It was The Punisher. He drank a shit ton of WT.

Those hot bitches in Death Proof drink a lotta WT.

Also, in real life Hunter S. Thompson loved WT.

I'd drink with any of them.

martini. i want to drink with james bond. i forget the exact martini he had (it was martini right?). its always the 'shaken, not stirred' part that sticks. either way, we could tie one on and fuck around with all the cool gadgets and weapons he uses. maybe double up and work a covert op while completely tossed, then tag team M.

non-fiction would be with a man i met when i was first assigned to bravo company, 1st platoon, 2-14 infantry in ft. drum NY. Cpl. Joyner. this guy was fucking great, and a tried and true hero. i was the new guy, but could drink most of the company under the table. some were pretty young, hell not that i was an old man. but at the tender age of 22, i had enough experience under my belt. anyways, joyner noticed my boozing habits and invited me into his barracks room from time to time. we would pass the whiskey bottle back and forth. no glasses or mixed units. just pulls from the bottle. joyner was on his way out, getting med-boarded because of injuries sustained during the units previous deployment. most of his face and left half of his body were badly scarred (burns) when his humvee got hit. fucking ied's. but we connected ya know? two guys who shared a bond and a bottle. frequently we wouldn't even talk that much. we just drank and nodded to one another.

ooo oo, and a drink with all of you fine folks of course!
my drink types are a cyclical device of life, and thus in line with pretty much every other circle-jerk function that provides timing between one drink to the next.
