Re: Underage drunk signs in.
Welcome aboard, JBCasino!
I've been a professional musician (piano-player) and a drunkard my whole life. Never had a piano lesson; never filled out a job application.
If you don't mind a suggestion, be like the majority here on the forum and refer to yourself as a drunkard; as "alcoholic" is a somewhat rigidly judgmental term -- usually applied by well-meaning others -- denoting you have a disease and require help.
I'm an American, presently living in Belgium. You can buy beer and wine on your own at age 16 here, and liquor at 18. When accompanied by your parents, there's no age limit for beer/wine and you may have liquor at 16.
Now I'm thirsty...how about a Guinness, please sir?

I drink ezra brooks and budweiser due to my consumption being larger than my income.
No Blue Label Johnny Walker for this cat, I stick to simple, cheap, and vomit inducing, I'm sure every drunk here has been to a point where they needed a little more kick but didn't want to spend half a paycheck.
Whatever does the job faster, right drunks?

Myself, I suffer from a disease known as: "$80-a-Bottle Single Malt Scotch".
It's chronic, it's cruel, there's no known cure and the only treatment that exists for this cursed malady is expensive.
So I drink Lagavulin 16yo simply to forget how much it costs.

Re: Underage drunk signs in.
I must say, Shadow Hop has a lot of potential. A bit too mobyish for someone claiming to do "dirty music for dirty people", but still, very good. Me likey.
It's a Boxman Darling rocks too. It's a bit like if Aphex Twin Fucked some prog rock band....or something like that.
You got some serious talent, keep it up. What are you using? Cubase, Reason, FL, Abbleton?

Hey, how's life? Can't play the tracks as Firefox is giving me trouble right now. Will check it out soon. I agree setting the legal drinking age at 21 creates more problems than it solves. I like the two-step approach taken by some countries: you can drink in bars at 16-17 (you get to know the beast/bartenders won't dangerously over serve) and then buy liquor in stores for home consumption a year or two later.
Nice, I'm down for music tech talk. Always interested to hear (probably more interested if I had heard the music, but anyway..) people's home setup. Myself I used to use Cubase rewired to Reason. That was a few years back. I've since shunned most production and gone to one mic, one acoustic/vocal take on my 4-track cassette recorder. But then again I do play mostly for myself and am not really looking to release anything.Mr. wrote: What are you using? Cubase, Reason, FL, Abbleton?

Re: Underage drunk signs in.
The landlord at a place where I stayed was a successful businessman who was frequently gifted good scotch although he didn't really care for it. Every now and then he would leave a few bottles in the kitchen. I started to develop a wicked taste for the stuff which I'm sure will only get worse as time goes on. But I just can't justify the price tag at this point in time; groceries are important too.peetie44 wrote: Myself, I suffer from a disease known as: "$80-a-Bottle Single Malt Scotch".

Re: Underage drunk signs in.
Personnally, I use Reason 3, but I just downloaded FL 8, and since I was using FL in the beginning, it'll be just like old times. I'll see which one suits my style best.
As for Lagavulin, I really have to try that stuff. A friend of mine can't stop talking about it, and honestly, my belly tingles every time. But you know, sometimes 30$ is enough for a bottle of whiskey.

I can't say the program, but thanks about the shadow hop comment.
"dirty music for dirty people" is once again, a joke
please pretend that 40 percent of what I say is either sarcastic or a complete lie

Re: Underage drunk signs in.
I've been a working musician for over 40yrs and have recorded with every medium existent within that time. I never got heavily into any of the recording technology myself, other than miking acoustic pianos, which very few people really know how to do properly.
One of the other posters on this forum, cornbread714, has a recording studio near Amsterdam and I believe he uses CUBASE himself. He and I play live together over here in Belgium and The Nederlands and we often rehearse/record in his studio.
You guys might give/take some info with him.
He's also a an unrepentant wino.
