New Scotch Thread- Couldn't find the old one

Post by Patchez »

So I remember there being a scotch thread along with the long standing bourbon thread and my beloved but short lived White Dog thread. However on the most cursory and half assed searches, I could not find it. That leads to this.

If you love Scotch and you find something new to you, doesn't have to be new to us, post it here.

I'll start with one that was delivered to my front door by someone in another online group, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch enthusiasts group.

This is one I would never have bought for myself. I'm tickled by the results. I fucking love it. Sweet heather honey in the start, hints of apple and nice heat at the middle and back to sweet heather honey finish that lingers a long time. Kissed, bit and kissed again. A splach of water or an ice chip or two open it up for some smoky notes as well.

Oh and its the bae of the Dewar's Blends.

I'm a water man. I have a problem with ice and not because of any snotty pretentious reasons like those wankstains who make videos about scotch. My problem with ice is you put two blocks of ice in your drink. It reaches that perfection of flavour with a slight chill. Moments later that scotch has been drowned.

I feel obligated with my pictures to keep with the pipe theme. I have a bottle of Johnnie Walker black, the breakfast of champions. Just a very easy drinking blended whisky. There is a reason after all why it is the best selling whisky in the world.

Everyone knows that the finest Scotch is made in Florida.

I still think old scotch is better than new scotch.

Hey, is this a national geographic museum of drunk-history or are you watching that cork become ancient?

I actually enjoy a nice rough young scotch...

best stop before I get too sordid and incriminating

Yeah, I find some older scotch a bit sickly. Mostly it's too expensive for me.

If anybody wishes to educate me otherwise fill my glass and tell me why

My whisky tastes depend on my mood. Generally I'm a bourbon or Irish guy,but sometimes I just want a malt. Auchentoshan 3 wood is a firm favourite, with Lagavulin being my Islay of choice. For blended,I find Monkey Shoulder the much more balanced option to any of the Walker range
