Half of me wants to take him up on it for nostalgia's sake.
I feel you one this one. I would shell out a ridiculous penny to get another 6 pack of Shiner's old hefeweizen.

Drank so much of that stuff as a younger man. Memories.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

A six pack of Hamm's purchased at Del Mission Liquor right after arriving home after the last day of the workweek on a hot summer day. Beer makes me pee too much, I don't really care for the taste of it, but there's something about getting it in this fashion that feels good. Bukowski often wrote of picking up a six pack (or two) of beer after a day of work, and I guess I'm channeling him when I do it.
Hot summers after work, on my way home on a late friday afternoon, always two big cans of cheap pilsners at the gas station

sorry to reignite a dead thread but just read through it and loved the idea to fuck...

for me nostalgia/comfort drinks is defo partly about the buying experience...i totally get the whole picking up the beer on the way home from work..no doubt about it!!

for me it's a litre of beam and some tall bomber bottles of euro lager...ice cold. drinking one of them on the tram journey home.

at a bar there it's always a pint of stella and a whiskey shot....just fuckin feels like home. I'm an omnivore with drinks but these just feel like putting on a well broken in pair of slippers...no issues.

Further thoughts on the matter reveal that any hooch will do given the right nostalgic conditions.

Campfires and ice cold DosEquis still reminds you of bonfires in fall and that trip to Cancun.

I like the small dairy eggnog in the glass bottles So good with brandy or bourbon or gold rum but also good with root beer, please do not shoot me. Also I miss California Coolers. Unlike today’s wine coolers, they had actual wine. In them. Basically lemonade with cheap white wine faintly carbonated. Whatever. I am old I miss new wave radio. Review that statement and I’ll see you in court. I tie my hair up with neon scrunchies when I cook.

Did I mention since bad things started to happen I cant sleep for very long?

Leftover dregs of cocktails, the stray salted nuts in the bowls, and the crusty remains of onion dip remindmeof my childhood Saturday y mornings. Neither of my parents drank much, bu oh boy, did their friends and neighbors

A Tom and Jerry at Christmas, out of the big cream china punch bowl, in the little cups, and the bowl and cups were labeled “Tom and Jerry.” My first T&J, I believe I was when I was, six?

Imagine storing that set all year. My grandparent’s garage was packed to the rafters and beyond. When Grandaddy pulled up the door, sometimes things would fall out. Okay, always, things would fall out.
