Good luck out there Boozi, I hope it's an uneventful tour.

Of course we'll sip a few extra for you, but keep us up to date with you special wisdom.

Patchez, I'm going in a different region, but if you PM me your son's name, I'll be glad to give you his best if ever we meet.
Lady Savage, needless to say this is a clear sign of destiny: the entire universe is trying to find ways to tell you to let your daughter marry me. Anything else you could read in the press is just a lie.

You dumb frenchman, that is not the daughter you've been sniffing after with your long french nose. That's the other one; the one with two beautiful little boys, and a career agenda that does not allow for some asshole guy interfering with her life.

Touched the ground after an awfully long trip and some small chopper flight to my FOB. Everything okay, enough connectivity for me to report here once or twice a week (except on some weeks of course).
Have to go for now, will give crispy details later.

I'm being stuck in my FOB for reasons that I can not really explain here ( it would be boring anyway), so I have time to spend on the board in the evenings.
While I was being stuck, I have: 1) observed that the quality of comfort here is wayyy superior to the one I got in Chad, at least on the FOB; 2) Made friend with a huge US sergeant with a thunderous laugh. He is from Grand Rapids Michigan and cried like a baby when I mentioned the fried bluegill I had in Illinois; 3) Discovered that drinking beer on the FOB was still authorized last week but that the CO reckoned everyone was over consuming and just decided on a global ban.

Conclusion: Even though I agree with his decision, the CO is now my enemy.

Apart from that, even when on hold, the mission is really interesting. I have had my first meeting with Afghans today and they are not as strange as you may think. They smell strange though. They are also very much interested in our money. This last part I can understand, because the region we're being deployed in has big fucking nothing to offer: it's only barren mountains and dried out land. I really wonder how those people got to here to start with. Who could suddenly decide in this environment "hey, that's a nice deserted rock here, i'm going to create a nice deserted village for myself right here, with no water and nothing to eat.". Mystery.
I should be meeting some officials in town very soon, and will try to describe the "city" environment as much as I can when i'm back.
Until then, drink hard for me, stay optimistic, and don't forget to drink hard. See you guys and gals.

Well, while I'm being busy over here, Wing, it would be nice of you to write a handbook: "How to capture beautiful redheads and force them to love you (or at least live with you)". I could use that when I return, thanks.

Keep your wits about you, Boozy, and have an eye out for danger.

Also remember, if you get in a violent situation you can always go back to your french roots and surrender.

I think a tit wearing stockings and a pink umbrella has just spoken to me, how strange.
Oh, sorry Steve, it's just that you were spending so much time at the Volcanic Poofter Pub lately that I thought you had just left the board for good.

Yeah, that's what I've always wondered about people over there. Their life just seems so fucked up to me. Oh yeah, and you can't drink either."
