When I first moved into this apartment 12 years ago, a large latte at the Peet's across the alley was $3.85. Today it is $5.15.

Back when I was a white collar coffee aficionado I learned quickly about Starbucks. You want a shot of espresso? $5. I was in Italy and these kiosks and coffee bars were everywhere. A double shot of espresso was around $2 US. Make it yourself.
