I'm thinking another round of cheese and crackers with another Mexican lager and shot of premium tequila. Ole!
Go for it! But wait, no chips and salsa to go with that lager and tequila? Especially being the Mex food lover you are! AND because you can easily get Have'a Corn Chips, the most amazing store bought- yet authentic- tortilla chips in existence, made right there in Laguna Beach. Once you try those, you will never even look at another bag of Tostitos again. Then it's about finding authentic salsa, which is difficult if you don't make your own.

No but seriously, cheese and crackers are a great choice and tough to beat, hence why we have an entire thread dedicated to their magnificence. Endless possibilities. It's too bad German's don't eat crackers because I really miss them.
I've been getting into chicharrones, deep fried pork skins. These have all the best seasoning rubs and are quite spicy hot but it's all like butter to my drunkard palette. They are low carb and mostly protein and fat with a lot of salt. You need to drink a lot of water and beer to wash it down.
Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.

I love those. I used to find this brand in the islands that came with a tiny pouch of vinegar included to dip them in. That's how some Filipinos eat them. Was quite delicious!

Pork rinds dipped in vinegar? That sounds like my kind of munchies.

My grandfather, a trucker, used to bring back massive bags of pork rinds whenever he had a run to the southern states. They had a salty and slightly smoky flavor like magical puffs of bacon. These pork rinds were relatively unheard of back then, something of a redneck delicacy which is neither kosher nor halal. They go marvelously with cold beer and a bit of cold pack spreadable cheese.

Those are exactly the ones! Oh, childhood memories of the paper bags going nearly transparent with splendid grease from the pork rinds. I figure some feller out back had himself a kettle full of peanut oil and a mess o’ them ol’ smoked hog skins to fry up.

Never tried that, nor have I ever see anybody do it. I've only heard about it, much like an urban legend.

Roasted pecans. Sometimes seasoned, sometimes not. And sometimes baked into delicious rum pecan pie which I am about to do next week.

I used to have a coworker who dropped peanuts into his Dr Pepper. He was a hillbilly.

What about dropping Captain Morgan into Diet Coke? I know it’s Diet Coke because they don’t make Diet Rite anymore.

The day after a holiday

Post by Artful Drunktective »

The day after a holiday should also be a holiday. Because you need an extra day to catch up on the stuff you neglected when you were on holiday, whether it be chores, errands, or blissful sleep. Or maybe you're a bartender and you had to work the holiday so you need a holiday to drink since you worked the holiday. Anyway...pretty sure this has been thought of before, but it is the "say what's on your mind" thread. And that lame thought is what's on my mind. Cheers. And a special cheers to those who work on the holidaze!

Speaking of holidays we need a few more in the early part of the year. Like between New Years and Easter. Specifically paid days off.
