Had some cans of Kronenbourg, now having some good ol' Jim Beam...though I ordered a litre bottle but Asda (supermarket in the UK) substituted it with a 70cl bottle, or a fifth I think they call it in the US...oh well, let's drink up.

Chilled white wine, finally getting around to drinking some half-fancy bottles people have gifted me - it's a quest to empty the fridge so I can stock up tomorrow.
On a side note, I need to find a drunk-proof corkscrew. It was a battle opening the third bottle without causing an accident that would result in spilled wine.

Vella Delicious Red on this hot August day.

Picked up a pound of ground beef, one russet potato, and one yellow onion for $8.11. Makes two meals and I threw away half the potato and half the onion. It's been years since I've cooked ground beef and I forgot you are supposed to brown it and drain the grease before cooking. I just spooned my meal out of the pan onto my plate. Any idea what this dish would be called? Or have I invented something?

Save the ground beef grease and fry your potato slices in it with the onions.
