The last to date was a Vikre Cedar dirty Martini with the ol’ Noilly Prat dry. It was highly consumable, and in a good way reminded me of the aromatic antiquity of a cedar lined chest or steamer trunk.

I’ve also been chasing the Zombie again at the bar where their spirits selection is much better than mine. It comes down to Jamaican and Nicaraguan rum with apricot liqueur, grapefruit juice, clove bitters and a squeeze of fresh lime. Chasing the perfect Zombie is what consumed both Trader Vic and Don the Beachcomber. So too do I follow.

have you tried Jeff Beachbum Berry's well researched replicas of the originals? I've made up his recipes but never with the correct rums...I mean I think some of the actual rum's are now extinct and he has recommended replacements...I know that's the case in his Trader Vic's Mai Tai recipe

You can really fall down the rabbit hole with that old tiki shit...a glorious rabbit hole though if there ever was one.
