I'm too puke prone to do anything with my booze that upsets my stomach which is pretty much most of the harder painkillers.

Yeah heavy opiates plus booze is a good way to puke heavily until you acclimatize to them (which isn't good co then you have too acclimatize to being off them after).
Drunk? I'm not drunk! You wouldn't dare accuse me of that if I was s0ber!

Pills + Booze = Trouble. And since we all know Booze = Awesome, therefore Pills = Trouble. As such the reasoning is clear - fuck the painkillers and drink on.
May those who love us, love us
and those who don't love us, may god turn their hearts
and if he can't turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles

Yeah, pills are nothing but trouble. Best to just drink some booze, put an ice pack on the wound, and let that pain remind you you're alive, man.

Toss the pills. There not much good for localized pain anyway and they can seriously damage your liver. As in permanently. If you're a heavy drinker then it will take several days for your liver to clear the protein that breaks down alcohol (and acetaminophen, causing damage)

Liver Issues

Post by Booz Hound »

I've been shitfaced for a solid 3 months and during that time apparently had a doctor’s appointment that I somehow made it to and he says my liver enzymes are ridiculously high and I have to stop drinking. Is this a real thing? Because I am still drinking but don’t know if I should take break and straighten my liver out, wants to put me on pills. Thoughts?

P.S. Thank God for Word spell-check otherwise none of this would have made any sense.

Presumably your doc knows you like the sauce, so it does seem odd he'd tell you to stop cold turkey, what with withdrawal symptoms and all. Might be worth a second opinion.

And, much like Wingman, I'm just a drunk and not a doctor. But, personally and anecdotally, taking it easy for a few weeks after a jag/bender is usually a good idea.

That he does! But i've been on a 11 year bender of sorts. I belive the most i've ever taken off drink is 3 days in a row once back in 2006. I'll try slowing down a bit but that never seems to work out, life sucks to much.

Try milk thistle. I've been taking it for years now and I am always amazed when my Dr. says my liver enzymes are fine as I'm usually hungover when they draw blood.

I had my last test a few months ago and it looked good, much to the disappointment of the Mrs., who wanted another test run.

I think I posted this b4. Can't remember 1/2 of the posts.....

A few years ago I went in for the annual physical. Blood samples were given a week ahead of time and once he was done with all the other tests [Moon River], he started going through my blood work with me.

"Mmmmmmm, cholesterol a little high, blood cell counts look good.......... what,,,,,..... this is odd......... your triglycerides are elevated.........odd in a man of your age."

So what does that mean doctor?

"Well, you're gonna need to cut back on ice cream and alcohol"

I start laughing.

"What's so funny"

Well doc, I really like ice cream.

then I really started laughing.

The funny thing is, I started working out/exercising shortly after the exam and the next year, everything was right back where it should be and I didn't cut back on my intake one iota.

Liver enzymes? That's a whole 'nother issue.
fuck em man, it ain't easy walkin the righteous path.
