In truth I just sort of got out of the habit of it. Rest assured though I have been drinking almost like I'm in training again as a matter of fact. Having a great drinking buddy around again is nice. But that's only part of the reason. Aside from all of that, there just isn't much talk here anymore about what makes drinking the greatest sport on Earth. Sure now and then someone declares that they're wasted but I've been stomping around on Blackout Island for days now. I'm wearing the same clothes I started in two days ago, except for my pants which I saw in the bathroom a little while ago.
That's one of the things that makes drinking great. The unpredictable consequnces of your predictable behavior. I found "the swanky lamp" had been knocked assunder last night after I walked through a pile of glass on my way to my favorite chair in the living room- stupid light bulbs! It looks like we obtained post bar food judging from the empty food cartons on the flooor. I should probably check my beard for remnants too. I love DSI. I got a late start last night but I can drink to compensate for that, if we're going for distance Barca will out drink me every night of the week but in those middle distance races the four to twelve hour mark nobody's gonna touch me. As Harry Callahan said, "A man's got to know his limitations." Go out and test 'em god damn it. That's what drinking is for. Stop being gun shy and pull the damn trigger! Nobody ever died of a hangover, no matter how bad they wanted too. Now, pull the god damned trigger! And I'll see on the otherside of this one. I tell you there's land the otherside of that dark horizon. Cheers fuckers!

That really was inspiring--especially because I started feeling guilty this morning after waking up in my clothes with no money and missing jury duty (again). Sometimes if you think real hard you can piece together at least the ingredients of some sort of narrative, but I have no memory of coming home at all. I admire your dedication.Oggar wrote: I've been stomping around on Blackout Island for days now.

I haven't done anything fun in almost 2 weeks. You're my role model man. I'm stuck in a rut, getting by with a few drinks in my apartment at night while you're living the life. March needs to hurry the fuck up and get here.
Earlie Cuyler: Allow me to explain the contamination process. Pine cones go in here, party liquors comes out here and proceed to here.
