All alone and feeling blue,
Ran through the sweet bourbon,
Got desperate; tried sniffing glue.

Felt the echoing loneliness
Didn't know what to do
Set fire to the neighbors driveway

(and then some other stuff. boring, really.)

Then the police came
I swore it was someone else
They hadn't a thing on me

The cat wasn't talking.

So from sunrise to sunset
I talked until I was dry

I did it because they told me to
I didn't think to ask why

What did it mean?
At first glance, I could not tell

and I'm really kind of tired
and the snores are there now
but could stop anytime
