A rare gem?

Post by Bluespook »

Ok, so browsing my local liquor store this morning and I found two bottles of Wathen's Kentucky Bourbon. I know the history behind it and have read alot about it. Anyway, each bottle is personally signed and dated by Charles Meadly. I bought both of them. I haven't tasted it yet, gotta get lunch first, but i hear it is close to perfection at 94 proof. I also heard that these are the stores that he kept when he sold the Glenmore Distillery and that it's been aging all this time. It also means that when it's gone, it's gone. He isn't making whiskey anymore, just bottling the old stuff. Can't wait to try it. Has anyone else had it? Anyone else shine some light on the story behind it? Just wondering, i'm gonna drink it and enjoy it, but seems like it may be a rare gem to me.
Beer's just being social. Whiskey's drinkin'.
