Bob Seger's father was a Ford F-150 and his mother was Glen Frey's wastepaper basket.

AMC made so many fine vehicles. As a younger drunkard I was into the whole Ramble/AMC lines.
Cheers!

The Pacer is an underrated automotive gem. The poor man’s Javelin, if you will.

I don't understand anything about the last page of posts. I am going to make brownies tomorrow (technically today)
I wish someone here was awake to make me another drinks, but I guess I will have to be my own bartender.

I think my dad might have had one of those. Is it the oddly shaped one? Or am I thinking of the Gremlin?

The Pacer was the one with the bubble windows. The Gremlin had more of a swanky, straight hatchback. One of the neighbors had a Pacer when I was young. Five or six of us snot nosed kids packed into the back of that thing, we felt like goldfish in a fishbowl rolling down the road.
Ah the 70’s and early 80’s, those were the days… no car seats, seatbelt free, someone’s dad drinking half a case of Old Milwaukee before driving the kids to the bowling alley.

Rolling around in the back end of the station wagon, metal floor, comfort seating on the wheel humps. Mom and her friends parking the cars, telling to behave ourselves, and going shopping. My gross brothers having spitting contests with the boys in the next station wagon, while I read a book. Why did the moms make us come along? Did they think we would burn down the house while they were gone? They were probably right, but I would spend my time reading mom's Cosmopolitan magazine and drinking the forbidden Shasta fruit drinks. I saw Burt Reynolds almost naked! Boy, was he hairy.Badfellow wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 10:38 amThe Pacer was the one with the bubble windows. The Gremlin had more of a swanky, straight hatchback. Add in mom smoking half a pack of Salems with all the windows rolled up and a gassy Boston Terrier sleeping on the floorboard next to the heat vent, that was our two hour christmas trip to Grandma's house.

What is that?
It`s cold outside and mom had to get her nicotine fix in before seeing family. I understand herThirstyDrunk wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 3:38 am

The girl at the burrito place thought pico de gallo was the "red salsa" I asked for.

oh, I though seat belts dated back to the early sixties. Daddy installed them, and suddenly, I was no longer allowed to ride on the ledge of the back seat on those dark drives home after a visit to Grandaddy and Mia.Badfellow wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 10:38 amThe Pacer was the one with the bubble windows. I think Elizabeth Taylor doesn't get enough credit. If all the crazy housewifes from Berkeley and Connecticut accepted to be bored and drunk like she did instead of trying to give sense to their existence with liberal-progressive political commitments, we wouldn't have all this PC bullshit all over.

Where I’m from, the death squads drag people like that out into the village square and politely point out the mistake for a full refund.
