Okay, so it's like olden times, here in the Big Pink Pile of Stucco. Grumpy is asleep on the couch, I am here talking to you drunken reprobates, and aside from extreme fatigue, I'm doing okay, I guess. Only one more shot from nurse Grumpy, before I see the pulmonary folks at the hospital. Pulmonary embolism, guess where I got that? Same place I got pneumonia--the damn hospital. Hey kids: Morphine is cool, if you want to forget. I lost several days of my life, when Grumpy was told to sign the papers for me to have an operation that might kill me or else I would just die in agonizing pain. Hmm...I don't remember pain, or several days after the operation, so I got that going for me, despite having less hair than a baby chicken has feathers.

All right. Enough of that boring medical crap. Get out the cudgels and whips; I am drinking. Yeah, I could die.
But so could anyone. Anytime. Whatever. Some poor guy in town here got knifed to death by strangers, for no apparent reason. He was just here to have some drinks and a reunion with family members. WTH?

The rest of the world and the USA might be having rain, but we in Tumbleweed Junction still suffer from extreme drought. My roses look dead, no one with a heart or brain has a lawn, and God help you if you put in a swimming pool back in the day. I make do with hiding behind drawn blinds, air conditioner on 80, pretending I live somewhere green and oceanic. Over the years, various relatives of mine have moved to the Pacific Northwest, and all they did/do is complain about the constant rain. I'd like to roll them in honey, stake them out on my dead lawn, and wait for the ants. Nah, I'm too nice for that. But God help you if I run out of Makers Mark.
