Why is it that the older you get, the skinnier you get? I used to be a sturdy woman. Anyone who saw me at the first convention knows that. Now I am that stereotypical little old lady who gets skinnier every year. I do not eat or drink much any more. I still like to cook, but Grumpy has no appetite these days. I stay up late so he can get more rest. Today he is going to the doctor for a full body scan, even though his cancer is in his mouth. So I am up, drinking bourbon and worrying. Sorry, just venting. over and out

Thanks Savage; I should probably weigh myself. I definitely eat less than I used to (usually in my car during ski season). I was losing weight when I switched to spirits only and quit beer for a while last year. Then again I used to get more exercise. I have a feeling my weight has gone up since I'm back to being a 'beer and a shot' kinda guy.

I'm being told by my doctor to eat more salt, and to keep hydrated, but to not drink too much water as that will remove the salt. I've decided to eat and drink what tastes good, like bourbon, medium rare beef, chocolate, more bourbon, etc. I start every day with a glass of water followed by a glass of milk and whatever I care to come after. Milk comes from a mammal. Do not offer me diet milk. I will have to kill you.

How the heck am I supposed to get more salt?

A. Eat a lot of Fritos.
B. Salt my ketchup before I stir in the Tabasco for my fries or onion rings.
C. Buy a salt lick at the feed store and lick it often.

You don’t listen to your doctor Savage, do you? What the hell does he know? Has he been in a straitjacket with bats and blood coming out the wall? No, he sits there in his swivel chair and makes check marks on psychiatric forms and basically does nothing. Myself, I tend to stay away from doctors and psychiatrists. Money spent there that could have been spent here — at the bar.
