They can't take away my Sierra Nevada pale ales tonight. Just let 'em try.

Sipping a little bottled in bond at the moment. Waiting for the beers to cool down.
Re: What are you drinking right now?
Maredsous 10, a tripel. Lovely.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Taking a small break from the onslaught of IPAs...
Trappistes Rochefort 10, a quadrupel that you've probably heard of -- if not, make your acquaintance immediately.
Also picked up Westmalle's Tripel. This will be a first time for me, and is coming up after the Rochefort is done with.
I love the nose on these Belgians. They should make candles or some kind of incense with these aromas, making you lust after beer even harder.

Those are both delicious beers and none too timid in character. Each of those little, monastic breweries in Belgium have their own proprietary strain of yeast.
Today for lunch, I drank a Duvel and ate a ham & Swiss cheese sandwich on light rye with extra Swiss, butter and dijon. For dinner I’m having shotkas of vodkas.

That sounds like a pretty much perfect lunch...although I never know what you guys mean when you say Swiss cheese?? Emmental? Gruyere? Raclette? or is it an American cheese styled after a Swiss cheese? I can't imagine it's bad...the Swiss don't make shitty cheese do they.

Anyways, now I'm drinking an "espresso honey imperial milk stout" by Untitled Art. These guys are drink geniuses.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Arrogant Bastard Ale. Used to love this one back in college, so it's been a while. Not as intense as I remember it, with the younger palate and whatnot, but still delicious.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Just saw that on their website. I'd like to try it, but I'm skeptical that it's any good.Merchant Seaman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:17 pmThey make a Whiskey too, same grains as their beer, only distilled
Do you know why they branched away from Stone into "Arrogant Consortia"? Has it always been this way? I'm confused.

^^^ I don't drink Stone often but Arrogant Bastard is a decent brew. Cheers!
At the moment no beer, just bourbon.

Re: What are you drinking right now?
I've always wanted to try these as a few breweries do them...I've pretty much exclusively heard bad reviews about them though. I think part of it is the price point, they'll sell their distilled beer at the same price as a high end scotch/bourbon and it's never as good.Merchant Seaman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:17 pmThey make a Whiskey too, same grains as their beer, only distilled
I'd give it a go for the shits and giggles though. wouldn't mind giving the Schlenkerla smoked beer distilled version a go.

Re: What are you drinking right now?
Currently swigging Stella Artois and Bud - Grecian heatwave afternoons were made for ice-cold beer - and trying to decide whether the night should find me drinking tall gin and tonics or Four Roses bourbon on the rocks.
