CCC the call to arms.

Post by Mr Boozificator »

This is the right time of the year as Kowalski has reminded me in an other thread, so here is a copy of our conversation and the suggestions I made.
We are waiting for your answers, Eurodrunkards.

Well, the CCC is only a month away or so.
Is there a plan for the CCC?
Not a very solid one so far, but here's the starting point we meet at a place that is convenient for the majority of us and get fucked up sometimes between the end of september and the end of october.
There should be:
-You.
-Me.
-Shane's dentist.
-Hopefully Tomodon.
-Negromancer.
-Hardcore Stig.
-Not Steve because he always chickens out in the end which is not surprising considering how much, you know... Steve-like he is.
-Unknown charming girls who giggle and share a taste for inebriated strangers.
-Whoever is brave enough to take the trip.

The question is, what destination would be the easiest for you guys.
If it's the midlands again, then no problem for me. If it's Belgium or Spain or wherever, then no problem for me.
Now that I think about it, as long as I know the date in advance, it shouldn't be a problem for me.

In terms of date, I propose maybe:
-last week-end of September
-Every week-end in October except for the last.
For you to see.

An other thing coming to my mind: the last time we have tried to reserve a common accomodation which proved to be impossible considering how chaotic we all are, so just let me know if you think it's going to be any different this year.

September isn't much good for me, as I have way too many commitments and birthdays towards the month's end. October, on the other hand, is no problem at all.

As for location, I should be good to travel anywhere. No preferences.

I'm free the weekend of 22/23rd October, otherwise any weekend in November. Realistically, I would probably only be able to afford to travel somewhere in the UK, but won't rule out a visit to Belgium or somewhere...

Presumably we are talking about a weekend in October now? 22nd-23rd - and possibly a day or two either side - would suit me fine.

Not at all bothered about the location. I've pitched Derry, Northern Ireland as an idea in the past - and wouldn't rule out Belfast either - but realise that it may not be a convenient location for anyone.

Savings start now. For example, I'm drinking bottles of Becks (yuck!) due to a buy-one-get-one-free deal on the boxes.

22-23rd october is fine by me.
I wonder if Tomodon will be around.
Also, I remember that Peetie said he might be available but maybe that was end of September.
We'll see.
Please guys, give us info.

Since you don't seem to be crossing the Antlantic any time soon, I'll try to drop by Ohio this spring.

Not sure how easy it is to get to Derry, but Belfast should be ok. I've been to Dublin before and it got better the further I got away from the touristy areas...

What about Edimburgh? I never spat on the Heart of Lothian.
What do you think Wide Boys?

Edinburgh has quite a bit of culture and lots of drinking places. I should be able to travel up there fairly cheaply, so I think I'd be happy with this - what does everyone else think?

That is the question.
All our fellow drunkards are so lazy when it comes to CCC. Wake up boys, the time has come!
"Allons enfants", buvez!

I have issues with Edinburgh. It is full of vegetarians (read as: homosexuals). However, it is also full of nice, stupid girls. Good music, too.

Edinburgh is fine by me, I guess. The deciding factor lies with the pubs, and I know Edinburgh to be admirable enough on the pub front. Just remember to maim any guy (outside our circle) who tries to buy you a drink.

Should this idea fail, I'd second a trip to Belfast. Edinburgh gives me the "least travelled" award, and also allows me to play tour guide, but I'll leave it with you guys to decide. Belfast is a fine drinking city, and it also has a ferris wheel.
