Drunks who are also runners?

Post by sloweducation »

Hello you beautiful drunk bastards. I have been running for years and am currently training for a marathon, anyone else on here find the running lush lifestyle to be perfect? My tolerance is the highest it has ever been and I drink as much as I can.

-Cheers

I seem to recall running once. Only thing I really remember was looking behind me and seeing the faint glow of sirens and men with badges giving chase.

I do not approve of running. If one must move, one should dance.

2.5 miles the other day, most in about 6 years. it's a great hangover cure, for sure, and helps keep the pounds off. going in the morning, in fact, or whenever i wake up.

I still register for the dance. Much more fun than the runs.

I've started running because I got too fat, even enjoying it now, which I never did before. Running less while drunk though, need to get my act together

I have been running for the last 17 years, but I've never found it to have an influence on my alcohol intake. Dunno.

I do a pretty hardcore bike riding workout twice a week to stave off the inevitable alcohol fueled weight gain. Done it hammered once or twice, but seeing as that's incredibly irresponsible and dangerous, never again. (You actually get way more drunk while working out after drinking, IMO, so who knows what is actually going on. I just don't want to pass out/die/get hit by a car/ go into cardiac arrest halfway through.)

Running is for suckers. If you gotta go somewhere, ride a bike. If you wanna lose weight, eat less shit.

I sometimes go mountain biking. Never done it drunk cause I was worried about what might happen. Usually I start really hungover and get really drunk afterwards, but this one time I passed out after only like 5 drinks and had a nosebleed whilst passed out, woke up in horror not knowing what happened. I looked it up and as best as I can figure, your blood pressure is really low after a vigorous work out, and alcohol also lowers your blood pressure, which can cause a nosebleed. I'm slightly more careful now. I don't exercise as hard.
