Sadie Boniface is urging all UK doctors to double their patients estimates on alcohol consumption and has promised to "wage war" on alcohol consumption in the UK; going so far as to petition the government to place a minimum price per unit of alcohol (she suggests £1 per unit, which would make the average bottle of Scotch over £40).

This woman is clearly the work of satan (click on the link, if you don't believe me - and check her twitter nonsense (which I will not reprint here, for reasons of taste and decency)).

I didn't understand the fuss when I read the article. Most people can't calculate units, the surveys ask for units. The surveys often use bad policy when extrapolating, ie someone says they had three pints (of what) so they make a guess. I reckon most people aren't trying to mislead the surveys. I personally like to say I drink six bottles of wine, a few bottles of gin and some turpentine every day, to make sure I'm not underestimated. I blame the people surveying, rather than the surveyed.
